I really didn't know what to expect on my first visit. I was not from the area and I honestly was disappointed from the outside when I got there because I didn't realize the restaurant was in the basement but as soon as I opened the door I was never disappointed. They decorated the whole place for Halloween and I found out they do that for other major holidays as well.

Having to travel all over the country I enjoy trying different Italian restaurants in every city I go to. For over 20 years I've been going in and out of DC and don't have any idea how I could have missed this little gem of a restaurant. In the front window they have these two older ladies making gnocchi by hand. Inside the lobby you find the desserts calling to you. The manager said that they make all their own desserts in-house. I had the seafood pasta dish which should not be called anything but the best dish of pasta I ever had. The portions are like nothing you will ever see anywhere. The sad thing is that even though the dish was huge, I ate every bit of it! The cheesecake was the most creamy delicious cheesecake I have ever had. Our waiter was always attentive to our table and the service was perfect. I cannot say enough other than it is truly the best Italian Restaurant I have ever been to and will surely make it a regular visit every time I am in DC. Be sure to save some room for dessert and watch for the surprise at the end when they bring you complimentry Sambucca and Amaretto to your table. Unbelievable!

I had dinner here this weekend and recived the worst service I have ever had. The people I was dinning with all recieved thier food before me. I had to wait 35 minutes before I got my order. The waiter didn't even appoligise. They were very rude. When I complained they said, "Hey it's a busy night." I wonder how many more busy nights the will have if the service is like this. The food was very good. I like Itilian and they did a very good job. It just with that kind of service I can't evision spending my money thier. I would not recommend this place. Try Faca Luna in Arlington. The servicethier is great.
