The Uptown is what all good theaters used to be. Not a cookie cutter multiplex, there is one good, large screen, one cavernous auditorium, and an actual balcony (where the best seats are, especially if you're on a date!). The entrance is suitably old-time flashy, there are little architectural flourishes throughout. They play first run features (usually the blockbusters). And sound - GREAT sound. But since being taken over by the AMC-Lowes chain, the Uptown has been allowed to slide a bit. A few seats are in serious need of repair, and the whoie place could use a good rehad. Nonetheless, it remains my favorite movie theater in DC. Parking is difficult, but it's only half a block from the Metro (Cleveland Park station on the Red Line).

From Business: Washington Improv Theater is the District's premier destination for great longform improvisation. WIT delivers dynamic, innovative and unpredictable shows presented…
They had the sound on high after many complaints last season that the dialogue was inaudible. We took advantage of the free shuttle bus that runs to the subway station, that worked very well for us. The KC cafe is the only of the two restaurants at KC that Ive eaten at and it's convenient but overpriced (you can get 10% off meal if you have mytix or subscription).
I have only been once here , but am in love with the place ...... I will definitely go back
