An afternoon or evening spent at Miraku is one that is remembered. I have been a frequent diner there for years, and I have many reasons for this. Their fish is always fresh and never has a distinct fish smell. If you smell anything other than the sea, or nothing, than stay clear. The customer service is exceptional even when they have a full house. They will make changes for you do to diet or allergy restrictions. If your server does not know the answer to your question, s/he will find someone who does. They serve fresh house sake, which goes bad in 2-3 days just like wine. I have never been served rancid sake. Their pricing is a little high, but you pay a price for great food, drinks, and service!
WC has seen a lot of new restaurants in the past couple of years, and as you've seen some have already closed there doors as they did not provide a good product and service. Well, Sasa is still open, and for good reason. It is very good, the food is tasty, the service was nice, the vibe is casual and cool. Must Have: the Honey Toast Dessert, do not get any other dessert or even look at the menu, this is what you want -- so tasty! Cons: a bit pricey, but a they have a great $5 menu on Monday which is worth it.
This is the best Japanese restaurant in the world. The service is quality, the waiters are genuinely friendly, and Wayne always remembers what I order. The spicy mayo is heaven sent, and the place is very sanitary. It's affordable and much more welcoming than a lot of other restaurants in Walnut Creek. I go at least 3 times a month. You won't regret eating here.
