I can't be the only one, right? Someone else must think that Chick-Fil-A is really a well organized drug cartel that understands the importance of a good product and customer service. The way they sling Sweet Tea and Crispy Chicken is criminal. When this location opened people camped outside for 2 days just to be one of the first 100 customers.... Addicts? There is another location less than 1 hour away and these people slept outside. The chicken is good, addictive - absolutely. I have to knock one star because the parking and drive through logistics are comical, speaking of drugs... This designer was on something to come up with that parking layout.
Food is good, been there a few times, but the last time I went (couple days ago) the waitress AND the waitor didn't know the difference between a Filet Mignon and a Prime Rib. We explained to the waitress that what was delivered was not a Filet Mignon and we didn't want to be charged extra, but she insisted that it was. I got tired of arguing with her about it, and just gave up. Every time we go to Stanford's we order the Filet Mignon, so how is it different now? They need to know the difference of what they are cooking, and delivering to tables! A filet Mignon is fat and round, a prime rib is long and flat!
This is the great old fashioned American restaurant. Huge portions, experienced waitresses who know how to keep the coffee hot and food coming. It is pricey for what it is, but the quality is excellent and the meals are big enough for two or for a left-over meal the next day. I love the open faced smoked turkey sandwich, and the chicken fried steak and eggs for breakfast. I have become a coffee snob over the years, and the coffee here tastes like Folgers Choice or something else cheap and burnt, but since that is what I grew up on, I drink it for pure nostalgia.
Wife and I had a little time away from the kids to celebrate her bday. She had been to Sunol Ridge before and wanted to return as she liked is so much. This is a unique place, our service was great and the food was good. However, the menu is without a doubt overpriced, most items should be dropped by $5-$8. Also, this place is in conflict with itself. They have an amazing selection of microbrew and some good wines, bar food and higher end food. It wants to be a chill beer bar with TVs and a higher end restaurant. I'd give it 3.5 if that was an option.
I went here with a friend and we took advantage of the 100 dollar meal for 2 which included 2 salads, 2 sides, a filet mignon and lobster tail combo, and 2 desserts! It was a great deal and we accompanied it with a nice bottle of australian wine that the waiter suggested. The staff was very helpful and courteous and the ambiance was terrific. Will definitely come back.
This location is always busy but they do a great job of providing good service. Amazing cheesecake, the menu goes on forever so everytime I go I can try something new. All of the dishes i've had have been very good to great. The wait for a table can sometimes be discouraging so try and go early.
We ordered Little Bit of This and That, Breakfast Sammie, and Niko's 2 Great Breakfast. Everything was delicious. Before our meal was served we enjoyed their salsa bar with homemade chips. They had cookie samples and they were delicious. Definitely will return to try more of their menu.
People watching and brunch - that's my 1515 preferred activity. The scene for dinner and drinks is just not my style, it's very cougar chic and fits in well with walnut creek. They are usually very busy at night and there has to be a reason they fill the house most nights.
I've been here many times, and have never had a disappointing experience. There is a bar, and a restaurant. Both provide excellent service, the food and drinks are reasonably priced, and the ambiance is relaxed and friendly. It's a great place for a date.
Breakfast is great, but I've tried lunch a couple times and have been disappointed. Truth is that this place is great for kids, so I don't care what the food is like as long as they keep that train table to entertain my 2 year old.
