Opportunities for the Retarded provides housing, education, training and employment services to persons with developmental disabilities. It provides ongoing training to develop and maintain personal self-sufficiency and pre-vocational skills. The center offers vocational skills in the retail and food service sectors and janitorial and custodial areas. It offers a Waiver program that includes adult day health, rehabilitation training, respite care, and food and transportation services. The center operates an intermediate care facility that has a team of case management professionals who provide a range of health, social and rehabilitative services. Opportunities for the Retarded, established in 1980, is located in Wahiawa, Hawaii.
