Upscale Restaurant & Lounge

Me and a friend visited this place on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013. We have been coming to this place at least once a month for the last 2 years. The manager, Curtis, a tall light skinned older man is so rude and unprofessional, I'm not sure if he felt like we were intimidated by him talking loud to us and waving his hands around, but it just shows how ignorant and unprofessional he is. We asked for the manager about 3 times within an hour and finally a gentleman that works there told us that Curtis said that if we have a problem, we need to come to him because he is not coming over to where we were. You as a manager is sitting in a booth drinking alcohol ( yes alcohol because I saw you several times go behind the bar to make your own drink) fraternizing with the waitresses( a short light skinned girl with long hair and a short dark skinned girl with long curly hair), hugging and grabbing them around the waist, have customers sitting in your lap and paying customers have to come to you if we have a problem. Oh really? I spend my money as a customer and He threatened to throw me and my friend out because we complained about the chicken tasting like fish. We never told you what the problem was. Being thrown out of upscale is the least of our worries. COMFORT ZONE in Hampton Va. is always our choice. But as a female with military background, your yelling just shows your ignorance and your lack of knowledge on how to handle problems. If you are a manager and is working, why are u allowed to drink alcohol. Maybe you were intoxicated is the reason for your behavior. Im sure if we were 2 males, your approach would have definitely been different. So that shows a lot about your character. My advice to the owner, reconsider who you put in management position. Please have your managers to take customer service classes. UPSCALE should stand for something. You guys should try COMFORT ZONE in Hampton.

My sister and I had my cousin a 30th birthday party on December 30th and we had a blast. At first we tried calling numerous times to reserve some tables a couple of days in advance and no one answered the phone, we just kept getting a recording. So we decided to go up to Upscales on Wednesday around noon and I got the chance to talk to the owner and reserve the tables.



The day of the party we were allowed to enter the club a little early to decorate. We returned to the club during happy hour and one of the bartenders made these amazing drinks called the Wawa (her own creation) and they were delicious. All drinks were only $5.00 and half off food (amazing). The entire staff was nice and very helpful. Around ten o’clock the club started getting full but not overcrowded. The owner was so generous he bought my friends and I numerous drinks and checked with the party to make sure we were having a good time.



I been to Upscales a few times but never planned a party and will definitely do it again. Thank you Curtis, Will and the rest of the staff for making my cousin birthday special.

The best club around! I'm from NJ and was starting to get discouraged with the VA scene until I went to Upscale. The music is well put together for whatever your taste; the security staff is excellent, giving us ladies the peace of mind to have fun; the patrons are respectful, mature, and professional; and the service is much faster than you would expect in such a busy place. I recommend Upscale to anyone over 30 looking for a good time. In fact, all of my visiting Jersey friends love it too.

The girls and I go to Upscales on Thursday night Ladies Night, we go about 2-3 times per month because we enjoy the atmosphere, music is smooth, no smoking, mature good-looking crowd and the Long-Islands are the best , but you absolutely won't be able to find better fried chicken wings! I challenge anyone!!! Our group of ladies also know we are in a safe party environment and we thank the staff for their fantastic service!!! Going again tonight!!!! I live in richmond. va and come there alot for the weekend for the club.I did notice the d.j does play alot of the same music,but all and all I love the club.I guess because of the d.j that had passed a few years ago. Change the d.j like the one before.He use to have use play "hokie pokie" but too our music ,or the musical chairs version on the dance floor.Change the d.j!! All and I will be up there in febuary with my ladies.The men are off the chain young and old!

The DJ is terrible! He has very little variety in his musical arsenal. Every 30 minutes you'll hear the same song over & over again. The food was cold and too expensive. (Especially the bottles of Moet.) I could pay $28 for it at Sam's Club insted of paying $109. The dance floor is too small. the security is mediocre at best. I wish I could give NO STARS But, I'm being extremely kind. You'd be better off at Broadway!
