I've been attending service at DCC nearly 3 years now; and I'll be the first to tell you that it is not what you're used to. My background has been predominately Pentecostal. Being in the military I had visited a few Pentecostal, Baptist, and COGIC churches in the Tidewater area and none were as spirit-filled as Dominion Christian Center. Pastor Terry Shutlesworth is a true prophet of God. He is not concerned with the cares of this world and the focus on "numbers" in his church. His focus, since me and my family have been there, is imparting into his members what God has imparted into him, so that they can be blessed as he has been blessed. If you are looking for what you are used to then go and find it. After you have been there, then attend any one of the Wednesday (7pm) services, or Sunday services (9am or 11:30am) at DCC and I guarantee that you will be blessed and surprised to know that it's "not what you're used to, but what God has planned for you." This church is a truly welcoming church. It's refreshing to feel "radical hospitality." The people are down to earth and real. There is a modern worship with praise band and 2 traditional worship services. It's also very family friendly, which I include single people such as myself.
if you are looking for a place of worship where you feel the love of God, grow in worship, the people make you feel welcome and you establish a relationship with Christ; this is the place to be
