You have changed my life lymphedema therapy center! Each morning I used to wake up dreading putting on my arm sleeve. Between the sleeve's material resistance and arthritis in my hands, it was a first of the day ordeal. Now it is something that can be done with relative ease and I do not wake up with dread of the ordeal to come. In addition, the night brace you recommended has made life so much easier also.
All of you at the lymphedema center were so helpful, caring and understanding with me.
With gratitude, Melly LM

I wish these therapists would of had a better understanding of my mother’s stage IV cancer condition. They forced her to start phase 1 and phase 2 of the wrappings and stockings that can last 4-6 weeks. We told them my mother’s oncologist ran out of treatment options for her and there was nothing more they could do but to keep her comfortable. Her swollen legs and feet were causing her discomfort, but her oncologist never pushed for lymphedema therapy but did mention she could try the therapy if she wanted.
Well I guess we tried a little late in the game but It still bothers me how these therapists pushed such an intense therapy on my mother while she was in such a fragile stage. To me it seemed they were only interested in the insurance quotas vs my mom’s real needs. When I expressed my concerns saying I don’t know how much longer she has, I’m not sure if this is really the best option right now....only thing the therapist replied, with her southern accent was, “well sometimes we all have to do things we don’t want to do” I was in such shock by that remark I couldn’t even respond. They said the lymph drainage and the wrappings could make the fluid disappear but after trying it out for a week all it did was make the fluid rise up to her hips. And her oncologist agreed the fluid wasn’t going to leave her body at this point in her cancer so I wish the lymphedema therapist would of told us this Info instead of selling garbage to us. I’m glad I called and cancelled all her future appointments after trying it out for 12 days. I didn’t want my mother’s last weeks being uncomfortably wrapped feet up to her thighs 24/7. It was causing more problems than good, she was always so itchy and had problems using the bathroom with the bandages and walking. Plus going to therapy every 2 days to rewrap, it was just way too much on top of everything else. Anyways I’m happy we stopped when we did because she passed away 2 weeks later.
