The schools share facilities such as the kitchen and bus transportation areas. Parent/student drop-off and bus drop-off areas are in separate locations to enhance safety and minimize traffic congestion. Classrooms with SMART Board technology and wiring will accommodate future technology needs. The schools are High Performance Incentive projects, meaning the district received funding back from the state for meeting certain environmentally friendly requirements. For example, the Solatube skylights used throughout the schools utilize daylight harvesting to reduce electrical usage and costs. The two Solatubes at the front of each classroom are equipped with dimmers, allowing teachers to use their teaching walls without glare. The ventilation systems monitor carbon dioxide levels in classrooms and incorporate fresh air as needed.

New Construction

Demolition
The seismic retrofitting included demolition of the kitchen, non-historic interior walls, the marquee, security gate and ticket booth; and construction of a new kitchen, a restroom addition, orchestra pit expansion, and replacement of the theater stage substrate.

La Sierra / La Vista Continuation High School has marked a higher standard for the Fullerton Joint Union High School District. Six state-of-the-art buildings connected by roofs and balconies bring two high schools together on a four-acre campus. The buildings consist of Administration, Library, Art and Technology Classrooms, Science Classrooms, General Classrooms, Student Services, TAPP Classrooms, Child Care, and Food Services. The surrounding campus was also revived with new paving, concrete flatwork, storm drainage, utility systems, landscaping, site lighting, trash enclosure, basketball courts, two central courtyards, and new street lighting.
