1/18/08 - Best chinese food in SCV. You really need to know what to order. everytime i go, i hear ppl ordering orange chicken or some other dish that their familiar from panda express lol. you need to try the house special shrimp, salt & pepper squid, and sole fish fillet. the portions are great, and the price is really fair. no other chinese restaurants in the area compares to A&B. there are actual CHINESE CHEFS and they are really quick and the food always tastes fresh ( not cheap like the cheap ingredients at pick up stix and panda... ). they also have live lobster/crabs and dim sum, but this normally takes longer b/c they have to steam it.
I'm so glad to see an authentic vietnamese restaurant coming to the SCV. It looks really nice and the people there are awesome. Food is amazing if you like vietnamese food. This is the kind of stuff you'd get in Monterey Park or Westminster. Definitely coming back and recommending to friends. The portions are big and prices are reasonable. This is the real deal!!! In response to the other comments above. I was invited for a taste test session and training of their staff. That's how I know even though it was not open for business yet. I should have said that initially.
My sister and I were in the mood for some yummy sushi, so we decided to head over to Wokcano in the Valencia area near the Promenade. The service was amazing. Our waitress was super polite and our sushi chef was very accommodating with our whole foods/plant based diet needs. I had the lettuce wraps, peacock rolls and yellow tail rolls. I also sampled a bit of my sister's edamame. This place has a great atmosphere. I am definitely going back. I recommend this place if you are in the mood for some good sushi rolls and fresh sushi.
