I'm heavily tattooed and after doing some research, I found out about the brass quill gallery. I asked around, saw some healed work and every. Single. Person. I talked to said they were the best shop in town. I whole heartedly agree after visiting and getting worked on by Ben. It's the only shop I would get work from in between Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tallahassee or Gainesville. They're on par. Each artist who's portfolio I saw was great. Even their apprentices are better than established tattooers in the area. Long story short, the brass quill is the ONLY shop I would go to in that area. I would personally trust any of their artists to leave a permanent mark on me, even the apprentices. It's an all around cool shop. Very clean, non sketchy atmosphere (which is amazing considering other shops in the area) and talent. Yeah, that's it.

I'll start off by saying that I'm a heavily tattooed man and I was researching shops in the are a couple months back. This place stood out to me in that it seemed very hit or miss. There are artists that work there that do some pretty amazing stuff, Tito and Chris V. There are others who I won't name that seem... subpar. I would definitely get tattooed there, but I would only set the appointment with an artist of MY choosing. Don't let the floor manager hand you off to whoever is open because it seems like a gamble and you shouldn't gamble with permanence. In closing, I think it a shop with some talent, some coat tail riders. Stick with the talented ones and you'll do fine. I recommend Chris V. I had the pleasure to be tattooed by this heavy handwriting lol and I love my memento.
