The nurses were really nice but the doctors were mia. I was admitted Tuesday 11/27/12 and I left Friday 11/30/12. During my time there I was in the adult program with men and women from 19 to 60 something. The other people were in there for a range of things mostly drugs. I was scared when I first arrived because I am 19 and was there involuntarily for trying to kill myself and arriving with me was a lady that was going crazy crying and hugging people. I didn't know what I had gotten myself into. The super nice security guard led me to where I would be staying. To my surprise everyone there was nice and unviolent. I learned so much from talking to the other patients I didn't learn anything from the doctors that were there random times. They changed my doctor once and I was left in the dark about that and about the medicine they were trying to make me take. The doctor prescribed me medicine without saying more than two sentences to me. I refused the medication because I didn't know any side effects or whatever. When I got discharged my doctor whoever that was supposed to be at that point was Mia and told the nurse I was free to go over the phone. The programs they had were ineffective and I say this because I learned absolutely no coping skills from them and a lot of the patients were on their 5 th or 6th time there. It was relaxing to get away from life but it would have been nice to learn how to deal with what was going on with me. THE FOOD THEY FED ME WAS DELICIOUS EVERY MEAL!!!!!!! So the nice nurses and food was the highlight.
