The hotel was very nicely decorated, modern and clean. checkin was very pleasant and the attendants were knowledgeable, helpful and attractive. the room was spacious, clean and quiet at night. i had a beautiful view of the courtyard. the free breakfast was delicious and included sausage, bacon, eggs, oatmeal, cereal, toast, fruit, cheeses, several beverages and friendly service. free USA today at your door in the morning. the location is right in the heart of santana row, which has lots of great restaurants, shopping and interesting novelty shops.

i have no complaints whatsoever, which is a pretty rare experience for me.

shame on reviewer "Iamsohungry" for having his daughter sleep in a chair instead of him. like the saying goes: bad things happen to bad people.

No its not the biggest and doesn't have the best bargains, but those things usually make my mall experience less appealing anyway because of the crowds and type of people they draw. This mall is very CLEAN, modern, upscale/fashionable with lots of attractive and hip people. its not ghetto at all! The food court is the best i've ever seen in a mall. There are plenty of healthy choices, gourmet and overall variety. 95% of other malls cannot say this. people watching here is fun as there is lots of ethnic diversity and eye candy. employees are generally young and incredibly friendly/helpful.

I was very disappointed by the entire experience. The tour was $26 for an adult and not as interesting as they try to make you imagine it to be on TV. The most interesting parts, like the winding staircase that only goes a few feet, you can see on TV specials. You see many of the rooms in the mansion but many others are closed off to the public. The fat, elderly four-eyed hag of a tour guide was the only genuine creepy part of the tour. She was the type that liked to pick on and flirt the male tourists. "Women" that age always think they can get away with that crap because they are old, ugly and no threat to wives/girlfriends.

Anyway, save yourself an hour and $26 bucks a piece and spend it in Santana Row or the nearby mall instead. Plenty of pretty women in those places to flirt or exchange glances with who will not make you gag your breakfast.

went there for the first time today. it has only been open for a week. The lady who cut my hair was very pretty, personable, classy and professional. the same goes for the inside of the place - very modern and clean with TVs and lounge seating. she offered me water or coffee before the haircut. its a really comfortable place for men -ESPN was shown on TV and they have a barber on staff to do facial and head shaves. she used a straight razor to edge up the back and gave me a shoulder massage too.

can't wait for my hair to grow so i can go back.

I have been going to this church for the last two years with my wife and daughter and have been satisfied with it overall.

IMO, here are some of the pluses and minuses that i have observed so far:

Pluses: 1) an eloquent, passionate, engaging, and knowledgeable senior pastor; 2) better than average music worship; 3) consistently friendly staff and volunteers; 4) great children's church that my daughter loves; 5) enthusiastic and VERY DIVERSE group of worshippers - any ethnic group would feel comfortable here; 6) access to the latest technological innovations for advertisements, messages and plays; 7) uses the modern format for church leadership - i.e. no pulpit for the pastor to hide behind or deacons/elders that cause leadership struggle; 8) very clean inside and outside the church - especially impressed with the restrooms and 9) extremely involved in local and international community (e.g. they are currently building homes in developing nations).

Minuses: 1) communion ONLY AVAILABLE on the first wednesday night of the month at 7pm- not convenient when you have a 5 year old who needs to go to bed by 8pm or for people who may work weeknights; 2) a lot of turnover for music worship leaders - the really good singers don't stay long, I especially miss Ruth!

But overall, this is a really great church compared to most i have attended and the people seem really connected to the spiritual world and each other here.

God bless Shoreline Church, the pastors and the congregation.

I went last week with a co-worker to this hole in the wall and had one of the worst dining out experiences of my life! The sarcastic and very SWEET waiter was rude the entire time and the food was just as unsavory. I had the hot chicken sandwich and could barely stand the smell of it. I know it had gone bad before they cooked it. They also provided me stale potato chips and charged me $5 for an AMSTEL LIGHT! My friend was also very unsatisfied with the costly and unsatisfying experience. I did not tip the waiter 18% because he was an absolute jerk the entire time but gave him far more than he deserved. He is lucky he got anything from me at all. Yet he had the audacity to give himself an unauthorized 20% tip on my card. I will straighten this out and report it to the BBB.

Only two other customers came in during the time we were there, i wonder why!

I have been here 3 times and the service and food has been consistently bland - not bad just mediocre. Dona Emilia's definitely has better food and friendlier wait staff who speak much better English. The last time I went my server was so dumb she asked me for an ID when i ordered a beer. I'm almost 40 and certainly don't look anywhere near 21! The restaurant is a coverted house with barely any parking available and hygiene is not high on their priority list either.

There was so much bad from my recent experience it is not even worth going through all the details. the highlights: terrible food- fish and chips was barely thawed out before cooked. The servers were inattentive and unattractive- they are supposed to be known for having attractive servers but Luby's, yes Luby's probably does just as well in the looks department. and the ambiance- lol, lol, lol, lol...ok i'll stop now.

unless you are a masochist and want to spend money for bad food and service, then leave angry don't even drive near here!

I finally made my way here after seeing some other reviewers give it thumbs up on being the best donuts in town.! i got a glazed cake and chocolate cake donut, two kinds they are supposed to be known for. they taste like cheap, greasy donuts in a school cafeteria, very filmy! No thanks. the two indian guys who were running the joint (i don't believe either of them were mrs. johnson) first ignored me when i drove up to the window. the one not chatting on the cell phone in hindi reluctantly came over and took my order; handed me the bag of greasy, filmy donuts; said $1.10 in a low, muffled voice and closed the window without saying thanks or goodbye.

the place probably needs weekly visits from the health inspectors based on the looks of it. the only plus side (kinda) was the extra donut holes they gave me, which were also greay and filmy. i could barely get this crap down without lots of water!
