This family-run Hakka restaurant serves some of the best Chinese Food I've had. The Hakka cuisine is unusual and the salt-baked chicken is to die for! The family and much of the staff have been there the entire 25 years I've been familiar with the place!

This very high-end grocery emporium in the location of an old Albertson's store is a visual delight, but after the initial excitement, quickly unveils its true colors as an overpriced supermarket. The volume at this store isn't high enough to assure all the products are fresh and after check out, you find you've just spent more per person for take out than you would have at any of the areas top restaurants--without having to do your own dishes at home.

You can't go wrong at Trader Joes, and for the most part you can take your whole grocery list into the store and come out with what you need to live healthy and inexpensively all week long.

It's ho hum comfort food at best--and seems to be a vestiage of an era that's long past.

Sure it's great-- but I'd hope a $15 piece of cakes and coffee would knock me over. It doesn't.

Moving near Silverlake, I was excited to see a branch of this upscale grocery chain. Sorry to report the quality isn't up to par with it's westside bretheren. The volume is too low for the high-end cheese and deli products to consistently be fresh and the staff seems to have been instructed to "push out the old stuff." Three tries at getting fresh deli turkey sliced off the beautuful display in the deli case were met with pre-sliced dried-out batches that were leftover from a lunch project. Not the Gelsons I'm used to!

How excited can you get about your dry cleaners? Usually not too much, but at this location you're known by name, the work is done right and on time, and it has the easiest drive-thru parking system I've ever experienced. What more would you want?

A frequent destination for business lunches as well as nights out, the setting is great and the food always top rate! Whether in the adorable courtyard, one of the many beautiful rooms, or on the ocean-facing terrace, there isn't a bad table. My top recommendation!

As is often the case, the 24-Hour in Glendale (A Super-Sport no less) has the same "get their $ and then forget 'em" attitude of most big chain gyms. The staff is apathetic and the locker room is FILTHY! Complaints--even via the website to the corporate office--are addressed via surly attitude-filled responses from staffers angry their day was interrupted. The item that matters are new enrollments--not keeping the folks they have--TRAGIC!
