There are several Shin-Sen-Gumi in LA but this is my favorite one. I like the decor of the restaurant and this location can gives us more choices in terms of topping.

If you're into English afternoon tea, this is a must place to visit in Julian. You can buy all kinds of tea and cute tea cups and you can also make a reservation to have afternoon tea at the store. They also serve sandwiches and soup and my favorite is the pumpkin soup!

We spend Thanksgiving holiday in Julian every year and we always pick up one item from this antique store to decorate our house. I love everything about this store; you can find one of a kind items and they are not overpriced like stores in LA. If you ever visit Julian, I highly recommend this place!

My favorite movie theater! You can watch movies on a comfortable reclining chair while eating and drinking. Yes, it's a lot more expensive than regular movie theater but it's worth it.

All the waitresses were very friendly and the food was good too. I thought they were smart that they had a survey at the table where you can scan QR code on your iPhone and submit. Nobody likes to take their times to go online at home to submit survey but if it's something easy to submit a survey while you're dining at the restaurants, I think many people would do that.

I don't normally prefer sit-down Mexican restaurants (since there are so many cheap and good take out Mexican places), but it was recommended by one of my co-workers, we decided to give it a try.

When you get there, they bring tortilla chips, salsa and beans immediately. And the bean paste was sooo delicious! The chips were also great. I ordered Cilantro Caesar salad with carne asada and it was good too.

Kids would love this place since they have people making balloon animals etc... and they are really good!

Overall, as much as I liked this restaurant, when you look at cost per value, I would still go to my favorite take out Mexican place since it's cheaper and as good as this place.

I read an article about this restaurant on a magazine and wanted to try for a long time and when I saw a Travelzoo deal, I thought I got to try this. Went here on Sunday early evening and the place was almost empty. We sat outside patio and the ambiance was nice. The service was excellent.

For appetizers, we had turkey sliders and Mac & Cheese, and for entrees, we had steak and organic chicken. All of them were so good! And my favorite of the night was dessert, s'more with chocolate. It was so good! We also had a glass of red wine and it was also great.

Overall, I really enjoy the food and with the Travelozoo certificate, it was a really good deal. But as much as I loved this place, I'm not too sure if I would come back to this place to pay the full price.

My co-worker loves this place and since we're in the area, we decided to stop by. Since it was during happy hour (till 7 p.m.) everything was so cheep! We ordered two soft drinks, 6 oysters, mussels, lobster bisque, beef, calamari and the total price was $45 including tip for two!

I especially loved oysters and lobster bisque!

Went here on Sunday night. I had a high expectation about this place but I was not impressed. Yes, the food was good but felt it was over-priced. I've tried popular restaurants that are owned by celebrity chefs but I always feel that because of that, all these restaurants are over-priced for the quality of food.

I also did not like the wine list; way too over-priced. The cheapest bottle of wine was $35 and it tasted like $5 bottle of wine from grocery store.

Oh, and they charge you $6 for tap water!!

What a huge disappointment! It's one of the worst ramen I've ever tried in LA. I'm giving this place two stars instead of one because I did like that they have a spicy ramen challenge. My co-worker who loves spicy food tried the challenge (you have to eat a huge bowl of super spicy ramen within 30 minutes and if you finish it, you can win a t-shirt and your photo will be posted on the wall). He could not finish the bowl (not because it was too spicy for him but it tasted so bad that he did not want to eat it all) but it was fun.

If you like spicy food and want to try spicy ramen, this place might be okay for you, but if not, it's totally going to be a waste of money and your time to eat their ramen at this place. If you want to eat ramen, go to Jinya in Studio City or Daikokuya/Shinsengumi in Little Tokyo.
