The Tahoe Seasons is our favorite lodging in SLT. My wife and I love the rooms with the gigantic hot tub, flat screen TVs, refrigerator, coffee maker, and everything else you'd expect. It's probably not the best destination for families with children, as the bedroom doesn't separate from the bathroom area by much more than a curtain, but if it's a romantic getaway, this is the right place. We enjoy that it's off Tahoe's beaten path on the side of the mountain. Some don't like the complimentary valet considering it superfluous, but we enjoy its privilege. It's nice not to have to deal with the car when you're ready to relax. The rooftop area is a lot of fun, and so is the pool and hot tub. The staff is courteous and helpful. We always have a great time.

Sprouts was the highlight of my whole South Tahoe trip. The food was fresh, crisp, and the recipes delicious. They have a fresh cream cheese and a balsamic vinaigrette that are truly magnificent. I had a sandwich on whole wheat bread with fluffy cream cheese, fresh sliced tomatoes, crispy cucumber, alfalfa sprouts and balsamic vinaigrette, and it was something to write home about. I begged my wife to go back before we left Tahoe so I could get two more sandwiches. Their all-fruit smoothies are something special also. They're thick, sweet, fruity, and refreshing. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. They only take cash though, so be sure to bring dollars instead of plastic for the best organic vegetarian food anywhere.

Save your money and skip Heidi's in Lake Tahoe. The service was poor, the restaurant a bit greasy, and worst of all, the food was very bad. First my wife and I were ignored at the door until we realized you had to sign yourself in. Then when called by the hostess, she led us to our seat and left us without so much as a "how you doin'". Then the server showed up to take our order. Despite a bit of ordering difficulty, she was the best thing about the place that day. However, when she brought the "food", we were aghast. My veggie omelete was a bit brownish and tasted of maple syrup, and the mushrooms were at least stale if not old and rotten. It was inedible. My wife's waffles were wet in the middle--beyond soggy, and the strawberries (with the exception of the garnish berry) were lavender grey colored. They were definitely the reason the waffles were mush in the middle. Her meal was also inedible. Instead of haggling with the manager we got up, paid, and left resigned to let others know of our bad experience. For our food to be of such low quality, we wonder what it must look like in the kitchen.

A Taste of Thai serves the best Thai food in Reno. The ingredients are hand picked daily and the curries and sauces made fresh. Their Pad Thai is full of Thai flavors and has great texture. I love all their curries especially. The Ruby curry is their red curry, and it has lots of bamboo. The Jade curry is their green curry, and it has peas, green beans, carrots. The Nevada curry is their yellow curry, and it has potatoes, onions, and a slightly sweet flavor. All are stupendous. They have a fresh spring roll that's really good with their peanut sauce. Across each of my 40 visits or so since 2004, the service has always been friendly and fast without exception. This is a great place to eat for anyone that loves Thai.

Golden Flower is delight for lovers of Vietnamese fare. Their food is fresh and authentic and a joy to the taste buds. Their grilled pork cold noodle bowl is hot yet cold and absolutely delicious. It is based on a bed of cold rice vermicelli noodles in a bowl with diced green onions, sliced carrot, and iceberg lettuce topped crushed peanuts. It comes with a fish-sauce based slightly sweet spicy vinegar dressing. It can be ordered with shrimp, grilled pork, barbequed beef, and/or egg rolls. The grilled pork is very tasty with a hoi sin based glaze and nothing but flavor. The #51 is comfort food to me. They have many soups prepared daily with all sorts of meats including rare flank steak, beef ball, tendon, tripe, and shrimp. They have really good spring rolls made with the cold rice vermicelli noodles, cooked pork, shrimp, lettuce, and basil wrapped in oversized rice wrapper served with peanut sauce. Their Imperial rolls (egg rolls) are hot, crispy, and delicious. They are made with shredded pork, grated carrots, and rice noodles and are like no other egg roll. I could eat two orders myself in one sitting. Also try the iced coffee. It is more like iced espresso made with a single-cup drip press that drips onto a small amount of condensed sweetened milk. Once you mix it and pour it over ice, it is the best, incredibly fresh flavored iced coffee ever. There are many other choices for Vietnamese in town, and I have tried them all, but far-and-away, Golden Flower is the best. I have been eating there regularly since 1997, and it is not often enough. If I lived closer to downtown, I would eat there every day.

Munchie's has the most incredibly delicious food. It's the best deli anywhere. They bake fresh Dutch crunch, sourdough, white, and wheat rolls daily. Their fresh hand-picked produce, the Boar's Head meats and cheeses, the soup, the salads, the bread and the service--all are perfection in food. I consider myself very lucky to know of this little gem in southwest Reno. I've been eating there at least three times a week for the last five years, so I can tell you first-hand that every single item on the menu is superb. They have this amazing Feta spread that comes on their Greek sandwich with Kalamata olives, salami, ham, and Capicollo--you wouldn't believe it. Then there's the BLT, which is easily the best I've ever had. The tuna salad is fresh, all-white, true quality made from only solid white Albacore--not the pink and brown crap they use elsewhere. The chicken salad, turkey salad, egg salad are all classics too. They make a mean Gyro with fresh-made Tzatziki, ripe tomatoes, cucumber slices, and crumbled Feta. They make a dynamite Ruben with marble rye, corned beef, melted Swiss, sauerkraut. I find it hard to peg my favorite items, because they're all my favorites. Once in a while they have a Sicilian pizza that's literally incredible. It's simplicity: a Focaccia-like bread with modest red sauce and sliced mozzarella, but it's got texture that beats all. The cream of mushroom soup made fresh from all Criminis is liquid pleasure to my taste buds. My wife's a big fan of Munchie's also. All my favorites have become hers too including especially the Greek sandwich, the BLT, the pizza, and the mushroom soup. Lately I've been ordering their California Dreamin' sandwich with ham, turkey, pepper Jack cheese, and avocado. It must be a local favorite, because I hear about one in five customers ordering it when I'm there. I've also been ordering their veggie sandwich on wheat with fresh pesto, artichoke hearts, avocado, sauteed mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and lettuce. It's really good. If you get a chance to get over to Lakeside and McCarran, stop by Munchie's a block away at Lakeside Crossing on Lakeside and Ridgeview. I'll bet you'll appreciate the culinary genius behind recipes too.

If your computer's broken, you should take it to Technology Center. If you need computer gear, Tech Center's the best in town. There are several other players around, but none are as reliable, affordable, and friendly.

As a computer consultant, I've been their customer since 2000, and I've sent at least 200 friends, family, customers and colleagues to them for parts, repair, and plain old good advice. They won't gouge just because the customer doesn't understand what's being done.

I've personally purchased PCs, monitors, operating systems, Office, security software, cords and cables, accessories, many hard drives, thumb drives, optical drives, printers, toner, ink, adapters, and more--for new and old systems.

Another incredible thing about Tech Center is that they keep inventory of hard drives, RAM, optical drives, operating systems, video cards, motherboards, processors, printers, toner and ink and all that computer hardware. And if they don't have it on hand, they'll order it, and you'll have it in a day or two.

I honestly can't say enough about these guys. If you haven't tried them and you're still using the Best Geeks, you're missing out on great service and the best prices in town for parts and service.
