Budget Truck Rental
My rating is for the national 800 number. They do not 'guarantee' you a rental. Even after taking your credit card number, telling you you'll be charged if you no show, and giving you a confirmation number... they can't tell you if they really will have a truck for you.
I happened to call the Warren MI location I was suposed to get the truck from. The person there was SUPER helpful and told me straight up he had 7 more reservations than he had trucks that day... so no way was I getting a truck.. that he'd be calling 7 other people to tell them they were out of luck too because the national # just keeps making reservations even though he has no available trucks.
The national number confirmed they will not guarantee you a truck... and didn't care at all that the place they had set up my rental for was way overbooked prior to adding my reservation.. and that I would have been SOL if I hadn't called the local number. She said its a numbers game... many people never show and they make $50 off them--for a truck not even available if they did show up to rent it. And this way all their trucks are rented because they have extra people lined up to get them.
Props to the Warren location for telling me the truth... (and thank you). Horrendous business model by Budget... not only will I never rent a truck from you again--but I won't rent a car either--and I'm going to plaster this anywhere/everywhere that I can.
If you're in the Warren area... try Utica Rental (vandyke south of M59). They had trucks and were less than 1/2 the price of Budget, and guaranteed me a truck the day I needed it.
Mt Clemens Door

Unbelievably bad business. We had Jerry install 3 entry doors for us. We got different keys for all 3 locks. 2 of the doors were french doors, and they were misintalled so badly they barely functioned (didn't seal, etc). Both were very badly out of plum and square. His installers came out repeatedly and finally (using a sledge hammer) pounded the back door to where it works reasonably well. The front french door however (with huge decorative glass in each door) the active door hits the passive door when it closes, taking off the paint and chiping the door. The manufacturer (Weather Seal) sent out a representative who said the door is VERY misinstalled--and the way the door functions (won't seal, hits the other door) is not their fault but entirely Jerry's.
This has been going on for 3 moths (doors installed Oct 29th). Jerry has stopped returning my calls becuase he says the doors are "within spec's" (still hitting each other and not sealing). So I've filed a complaint with the better business bureau (not his first) and am getting ready to sue him in small claims court to get my money back. As bad a contractor as I've dealt with... a horrible business. I regret choosing the 'local guy'... a huge mistake. Don't you make it too.
Charest Heating& Cooling

I highly recommend this company. Not only were the rates VERY reasonable to come out on a Saturday afternoon (infact the rate was the lowest), Mike the owner is clearly an expert in the field. He thoroughly explained what was wrong, what the fix was, and how much it would be to repair. Since my furnace is 20 years old or so--he also quoted me (at my request) the cost of a new one--after discussing the options (as there are many manufacturers and many different models). Mike was very conscious not only of doing things correctly, but also making sure they would be up to code and safe. In an age where most people seem like they are out to take your money and run, Charest Heating & Cooling was reasonably priced and delivered great service. When we replace our current furnace we for sure are going to call Charest.
