14550 Big Basin Way, Saratoga, CA 95070
This place is in the heart of downtown Saratoga (only one street long) and is famous for their chocolate fondue. I ate an entire meal here and I can tell you everything is just as good. We opened up with a pesto cheese fondue for me and my date and even she liked it although she wasn't a fan of cheese. We opted for the mixed grill that had some exotic meats like buffalo, duck, along with your rib eye and chicken. I felt this was better than more broth and gave us a break between dipping. For dessert we had a dark hazelnut fondue with loads of strawberries, cake and other goodies. If you are not in the mood for all of those fondues, you can come after 10pm i think for the dessert fondue only which I think is either 8 or 10 per person.

This place is good but it is not the best pearl tea that I have had, that is reserved for Tea Era in Mountain View. However, it does do the job and their smoothie drinks are really good. I find it a little pricey but others swear by it. I have not had a burger there but for a pearl tea place a lot of people get them and really like it. The popcorn chicken is good and is a great snack with your tea.
Zachary's Chicago Pizza
5801 College Ave, Oakland, CA 94618
Best pizza ever. Done. I love chicago style pizza and this place nails it. If you walk in and see all the awards you will know why. I had 5 slices here and could not move but didn't care. Some people think it has too much marinara sauce but that is personal preference. I like their combo one, their veggie one is also really good. Be careful, cash only here and the lines can be pretty ridiculous. However you can call in and pick up, just give them about 45 min to make the pizzas. It tastes just as good the next day, if you have any left over.
Fentons Creamery & Restaurant
4226 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA 94611
Now I haven't eaten here too often and I am not really impressed by their food, but this is about the creamery which means ice cream. Their sundaes are huge so if you have a sweet tooth, go after it but if not then you might want to share. The black and tan is really good and they also have a Fentons challenge where if you eat an enormous amount of ice cream in 20 min they give you a shirt.
I B's Hoagies
2513 Durant Ave, Berkeley, CA 94704
If you want a hoagie, then you can stop here. This place is the spot for steak sandwiches and they are not shy with their portions. All of the stuff is great here, and its just a simple shop with a few stools to sit and eat. If you like chili cheese fries, get them but make sure you have a heart that can take it and a few friends to share cause if you down the whole thing just call off the rest of the afternoon.
2109 Cedar St, Berkeley, CA 94709
This is a nice gem in the heart of north berkeley. It is literally the size of a kitchen with a few barstools inside. It give you a really intimate feel with the chef and you can see what he is doing while making the food. The menu is small, just a few items but changes seasonally. They always serve it to you in a nice hexagonal box with paper and it is perfect to go. I had their lamb shank and it was really good. The star are the mashed potato balls which I could eat forever but its best I don't. It is a little pricey for the average college student but it a nice first date spot if you can afford it.
