Porto's is a local Favorite in Glendale/Burbank because of the great variety of wonderful food and fast service. They are known for their Potato Balls and I also love their ham and cheese croissants and red velvet cupcakes.

The best store for electronics. They have any computer component you could want while also carrying appliances, televisions and fun toys like RC Helicopters. Make sure you have plenty of time because there is a lot to see.

They alo understand the importance of checkout speed as they always have a dozen or more lanes open and an employee dedicated to moving the line quickly. The prices are usually comparable to online stores like amazon and buy.com but without the wait or shipping costs. Great, painless return process as well.

I came in for a few parts and the associate was extremely helpful, walking me across the store to various departments to help me get everything that I needed.

I've been going to this IHOP for 25 years and it's always great. I personally love the chocolate chip pancakes with 2 scrambled eggs and hash browns.

We take our kids here every year to pick out pumpkins, take pictures, take a hay ride and buy some pumpkin bread. It's a little drive from 400, but it's worth it. Fair prices, enormous selection and a fun time had by all!

Stone Mountain Park has a ton of stuff to do. Some of our favorites:

    1. Walk up to the top of Stone Mountain. Takes about 20 minutes or so each way.

    2. Watch the laser show that is projected onto the face of Stone Mountain at dusk during the summer.

    3. Ice Skating

    4. Miniature Golf

    5. Cable Cars up to the top of Stone Mountain

    6. Train ride around Stone Mountain

There are lots of other stuff to do from great tennis courts (they host pro tourney here annually) and golf courses.
  • IKEA 441 16th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30363 (404) 745-4532

    Furniture:

Ikea has great styles for their furniture at great prices. All the furniture comes in rectangular boxes that you take home and follow the instructions to assemble. The furniture has lasted us for many years, through multiple moves. It's not the sturdiest or longest lasting furniture around, but it is durable enough and the prices are amazing.

    Food:

The swedish meatballs are amazing and worth the trip alone. The frozen yogurt is the best vanilla froyo i've tasted anywhere and the cinnamon rolls are a family favorite as well. Try the ligonberry sauce if you get the meatballs.

    Atmosphere:

The upper level of the store has all of the furniture laid out into rooms and 'living spaces' of various sizes. They show you how you could live in 200sq ft and some other small size areas. Most of the furniture comes in 1+ of 3-4 shades, so it's easy to mix and match furniture. There is also a great kids area where kids can play on some of the toys they sell. If you want to shop without your kids, they do have a babysitting area that looks like fun for the kids if they are tall enough and potty trained.

Downstairs has a bunch of non-furniture stuff like great curtains, rugs, kitchen and bathroom stuff, dishes and glasses, etc etc. Then there is the self-service warehouse where you pick up your furniture and check-out. Don't miss the $3 umbrellas (they are huge) in the check-out line!
  • Zaxby's 6020 Bethelview Rd, Cumming, GA 30040 (678) 513-0077

Zaxby's is a great fast-food chicken place with great snackers (small chicken sandwiches) and fries as well as great zalads (yes, with a Z). We go here often when we're in the area and it's consistently fresh and tastes great, and the order is always correct, which can be rare at fast food places. The main downside is that they only give you one sauce and then you have to pay (yes, PAY) for extra sauce. It's a shame that such a great chicken place is being held back by nickel and diming customers over $0.02 sauce. If they'd ever change that policy, they'd keep more customers instead of pissing off many. For us, we still go back because we don't get extra sauce (zalad and sandwiches don't need them) but we know lots who are pissed at the charge and won't go on principle alone.
