I am a regular guest at the Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, and Aman properties and without the amazing spa this resort would only be on the map due to it's previous owners, the Vanderbilts. The hotel has seen better days and we were very unimpressed with the room's size and quality. The guests at this establishment are mainly retired citizens and the staff pays more attention to the surnames of their guests than their comfort. We decided to visit the Piano Bar in the evening where the music consisted of Elton John classics and other oldies. The drinks weren't well mixed and it took a half hour for a hostess to come to the table. There are much nicer properties nearby and if you want a true five star resort, stay at the Inn on the Biltmore. \r \r On the other hand, although the spa has exhorbitant prices, the treatments are first-class. If you decide to go, make sure you arrive at least an hour and a half early so you can enjoy their many pools and waterfalls. \r \r I would recommend the spa due to it's quality of treatments, but I would not return to or recommend the hotel.

I reserved an entire day of appointments at Ofra Spa and I couldn't be happier. I had a french pedicure, deep tissue massage, chemical peel and microdermabrasion facial, and several other treatments. There is a delicious sushi restaurant nearby and I was able to order in the morning and they brought in my roll and tea in between treatments. They use top of the line products and every member of their staff is professional and courteous. The massage was given with just the right pressure and technique. The pedicure lasted for over a month, and I saw great results from the facial immediately. Ofra herself was my aesthetician for the facial and made every effort to ensure that I was taken care of. I would recommend this spa to anyone and I will return the next time i'm in town.

Blue Water Spa is an amazing center with a very caring and professional staff. The Spa is owned and operated by one of the best plastic surgeons in the nation, Dr. Law. When I lived near Raleigh it was over an hour's drive, but I reserved a microdermabrasion or chemical peel facial at least once a month because of the quality of the treatments and the overall great attitudes of every member of the staff. I also used their laser hair removal treatments which have been amazingly effective. I no longer live in the area, but I still order their products because I haven't found anything that I like better. There are savings offered every month, but regardless, this spa is one of a kind and worth the money and the long drive. I would recommend this spa to anyone and I would love to return the next time I'm in the area.

I recently had dinner at Meat Market on a Friday night and it was absolutely phenomenal. It did take about 45 minutes for a table to open up and even the bar seating was full, but it was well worth the wait. Everything from the puffed maize appetizers to the cheesecake dessert were to die for. I ordered a rare/medium rare steak with cabernet reduction on the side and ever last bite was perfectly seasoned. The true mark of a great steak is not needing any additional spices or sauce and this made the cut. The server made an excellent wine pairing for the meal and although service was slow at times, the atmosphere provided plenty to keep you entertained. It has a great, stylish crowd and the decor is just as posh. My pre-dinner cocktail was expertly mixed and they also have a fairly extensive wine menu. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a delicious dinner in an upbeat location.
