We went to the restaurant around 7:15pm on friday without a reservation. We were quite lucky to be seated promptly. I personally like the chicken patty even though it's very greasy. The curry chicken I had was okay, I can't really say it was to die for. All and all it was an alright experience, nothing extraordinary.\r I do have to admit I am not a fan of cash restaurant and this restaurant only accepts cash with a broken ATM. It is highly unlikely that I will go back. There are too many other restaurants for the same price with better food and take credit card.

Went there for the 1st time this past Friday. The waitress changed her tone and was short with us as soon as she found out we were there only for drinks and dessert. Will definitely not go back. The bubble house down the street certainly is a lot better.

This restaurant serves one of the tastiest food in Philadelphia. We did not have a reservation for a saturday night dining but we were still able to get a seat within 10 minutes which is very good. The food is just excellent. I had the pork chop and it was very juicy and tender. The service was very good and our server was attentive. The atmosphere is very nice and parking is easy.\r I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is interested in contemporary New Orleans soul food.

I was quite excited when I found this place from citysearch. The 3 previous reviews were pretty much giving this place a highmark. However, I believe the restaurant was a bit overrated by the 3 previous reviews.\r We were seated promptly which was good, the table service was not all that good however. Our waiter was not attentive. Once they brought out the food, nobody asked us if we need anything at all during our meal. I am afraid I can only say the food was ordinary - don't get me wrong, it's not bad but I was just not wow by it.

Went to Beau Monde for the first time last night. I must say it was good. I really enjoyed it. The ambience was cool and the food is good. I must say, I'd always pick crepes as a part of my dessert rather than as a main course. Nevertheless, it was still a good main course. The place was a bit loud, but I don't mind that at all. Rather be at a loud restaurant than an quiet one where you could even hear a needle drop.\r I must agree with one of the past entries here that the waitress was not attentive enough. As a group, different waitresses filled up our drinks but not our waitress so it's a bit odd. I felt like I was at a restaurant somewhere in Asia where that type of service is more common but not here in the U.S. Overall, I would definitely come back.

I can't really complain about the food or service. We went during weeknights, so it wasn't that busy. I am getting a mixed signals however, I called before and they said they didn't take reservation but in the mean time, people in this forum say they did. Not a big deal - we were promptly seated since it was not busy.\r The only part that I am a bit turned of by is the fact they do not accept credit cards. I can understand if their meals are about $10 - $20 total, but for a $50 plus total for 2 people I think it's a bit ridiculous to expect customers to bring cash that much. What if we were to have a party of 10 or more? It's the 21st century and even WAWA accepts credit cards for GOD sake.\r

I have to admit, I really like this restaurant. It's a cheap eatery but guarantee good; time and time again. It's not your typical chinese place where you would order General Tso's chicken...forget that. They have a diverse food selection. One favorite that I always get is their to miao (re: toe meow) - it's snow pea leaves sauteed with garlic. It's very good and flavorful. Another one will be their steam sea bass with scallion and ginger.\r The service is very quick, however, definitely not a romantic place for your first date.

I definitely love the bar scene - very trendy.\r I tried the restaurant and unfortunately did not have the same opinion as to their bar. The food was alright but I definitely expected more from a Starr restaurant. Again, there's nothing wrong with it, it's just not a wow for me.
