    Great style and prices

Based on the reviews here, I made an appointment with Gladys. I am not sure if she was in a bad mood or is just like that always, but she was definitely not ""warm"" or friendly. She washed my hair, and it was like she was scrubbing pots and pans. She was so rough, I was wincing with pain. While in the chair, she asked me in an accusatory tone why I didn't get my color done there and I told her I didn't live there. I didn't get a haircut but she did style my hair which came out better than my usual hairstylist. I loved it so much. Despite her being unfriendly, not gentle and just plain intimidating, I LOVED my look when I left so I got my moneys worth. I would probably go back if I was in the area again.

I would love to come back

Let me start off by saying that we had our dining experience at the upstairs bar. We walked in around 8:30 and were immediately seated upstairs at the bar. The host was such a nice guy. The bartender was fantastic. The food was amazing. We started off with the marinated olives and the polenta. Very delicious. Can the bread get any better? My pasta dish was really small and really not worth the price. It was delicious but there was hardly anything to it. Get the baked rigatoni. That's a full meal and it's really good! The place has a great vibe. It's a bit loud in there but everything else is great.

    Will never go back

We were a table of 3 on a late Saturday afternoon. It was somewhat busy but not every table was occupied. The service was awful. The food was mediocre. We ordered our drinks and food and it took 20 mins to bring us our waters. 5 mins after that, my drink was delivered. 5 mins after that, my husband's drink was delivered. Ridiculous. After 35 to 40 mins later of waiting for our nachos (with chili), I was about ready to walk out. The nachos arrived, with no chili. Chips were cold and cheese was not melted, at all! We asked for the chili again. The chili was brought out by another server but it was a crock of chili (with melted cheese on top) with more chips! What? We said we didn't order this (b/c it was clearly not meant to be put on the nachos) and she said we did. Ugh, whatever. Our entrees came out soon after (no time to eat the tasteless nachos). We got burgers and they were good. But our waitress never came over to ask how we were doing. Getting another drink took forever! This place is so not worth it. Another person wrote a review and said he could only attribute the terrible service to race, but I highly doubt that as I was seeing it happening all over.

Amazing food, easy to grab a table

My friend and I ate her last night and I loved the food. We ordered the truffle french fries - yummy! For my entree, I got the artichoke ravioli. The sauce was so flavorful! I can't wait to eat my leftovers tonight. Our water glasses were repeatedly re-filled and our waiter was right on top of things. I found the wine to be a great price at $6.00 a glass. I didn't find it loud at all but then again, it wasn't overly packed. We went on a Wednesday night. Check it out for yourself.

Mmmm; Will definitely be coming back!

The four of us went to Salvatore's last night. We had a reservation and were seated right away outside. The view is nothing to look at. It's a demolished building but who cares. The food is what's great here! I got the chicken saltimbocca and it was fantastic. The homemade pasta (at least I thought it was homemade b/c it's that good) is plentiful as a side. The prices are a bit steep but I think it's worth it. The bar is beautiful if you have to wait to be seated. The staff is really friendly. I will definitely be returning again.

Local Southie Mini Spa - Comfortable, unpretentious

The owner, Anne Marie, is so sweet and professional. When you walk in to the tiny waiting room, you feel very comfortable and at ease. The prices are reasonable and she uses organic products. I have been going to her for over 6 months now. Will keep going.

    Great food, service and ambience

Our group of four had made a reservation for 8:30 on a Friday night but weren't seated until 9:15. We were a bit annoyed but at least had a couple of seats at the bar. Once seated our servers were courteous and attentive. The food was excellent. I got the Pan-Seared Veal Hanger Steak and it was delicious. Even got a side order garlic mashed potatoes. There's definitely enough food. Despite the delayed seating, the waiters were great and the food yummy. I would definitely go back.

    Delicious food, classy ambience

My fiance and I went to Avenue One for Restaurant Week. The restaurant is open in the lobby of the Hyatt hotel but it's still classy. In fact, romantic. There's a nice loungey sitting area right next to it. Our server, Juan was courteous and professional. I got the petite eggplant napoleon for my appetizer. I am not sure how it was supposed to come out but it was cold. The cheese did look like it was sitting out for awhile but it was still delicious. My fiance and I both got the grilled rib eye steak and we both agreed that it was flavorful and just plain yummy. The chocoloate lava cake was a nice small portion so I didn't feel super full. We did however, feel like we were the only ones there who weren't tourists. I would recommend this place.

    A must try

My boyfriend and I went to Ivy last night for dinner. We were seated promptly downstairs in a secluded area and it was pretty romantic. Our server was very attentive and immediately came up to us. We ordered the most delicious small plates and were full by the end of it all. Get the arrancini. The other reviews said it was soggy or luke warm, but ours were perfect. My only issue is they only give you 3 of them. Not enough for 2 people. We also got the gnocchi and the mac & cheese. Both flavorful and plenty for 2. I love the ambience! Will defintely go back.

    Good Food, Loud!

I really enjoyed the food here. You can't beat the prices, even for the wine. I had made a reservation for 6 people at 7:00 on a Saturday but forgot and thought it was at 7:30. The host was so accommodating in finding us a table even though my name had already been crossed off the reservation list for a no-show. This is a tiny restaurant so the noise level is really high and everyone was shouting. It's also pretty dark. Our waiter was a relaxed sarcastic guy who made us laugh. The food is delicious. I would definitely go back, just with a smaller group.
