smelly mothball central
Stopped in to have a drink with a friend before meeting up with others. The place was filled w/ octogenarians and smelled like Grandmas house times 1000. Seriously it turned our stomachs and we left after 1 drink. The $8. for a house rum and coke is a bit steep and service was slow even though we were the only ones at the bar.

Great Bands, Cool Atmosphere
The bands we have seen have been wonderful...unfortunately, the acoustics of the place are horrible. Just good enough to realize the talent but bad enough to make you regret the $12.25-$25.00 cover. Will give it another try and probably go back many times because it's one the coolest and unique places in K.C.

Great NY style pizza
Being from NY, I always search out pizza in a new town. It was only after my favorite pizza place (I Love NY Pizza on Franklin St.) was sold to another owner and quality was thrown out the window that I tried Randies. Great thin crust, real cheese and a pretty good sauce along with the great owner(s) old and new(Randie and Elia) made me a fan for life! They even know my voice and what I want depending on which day it is I am calling. Living in Kansas City now but will be back in 6 days and will be bringing back my usual 4 XL pizzas when I leave.

There must be better out there.
While the cupcakes were o.k., I exect a lot better for $3 each. The pote de creme was not good and I possibly had the worst tasting eclaire ever. The young redhead who helped me was very nice...but that was about the only thing this place had going for it.

What a rip off
Food was ok, the place looks nice. $5. domestics $8-10 cocktails and to rent a lane on a weekend night....$75-85 an HOUR not including shoe rental...are you kidding ? Even on a weekday afternoon it cost something like $35-45. Way overpriced for K.C. I'll take an AMF anytime!

best looking worst tasting food EVER!
The place was empty on a Saturday morning which should have said something, but the window displays had me hooked. The looks of the food put any patessiere in France to shame. $25.00 worth of goods later and I couldn't have been more dissapointed. The black and whites, fruit tart, eclaires, rum custard puffs and cheese cakes were HORRIBLE! The only good thing about this place was the recomendation for Famous Joes Pizza around the corner. I would walk to Brooklyn to eat at Juniors before I crossed the street to Rocco

Simple, modern decor, delicious food.
Came here for Restaurant week with the Wife and was very happy. They did not cheapen or dumb down the menu and the service and choices were excellent. My only ""complaint"" would be that the steak was a little overcooked, but not enough to send it back. Can't wait to go back!

their $1 sushi might be a good deal
The service was good and the sushi chef was nice but the rest was only so-so! The rice was over cooked and mushy and the portions of fish were the smallest I've ever experienced. I noticed a $1 sushi sign mon-thur 4-6 and if I'm ever in the area again during happy hour, I might give it another shot but probably not. I did not try the steak house side but everyone sounded like they were having a good time. and it smelled wonderful.

great sushi, friendly staff and owner
This could easily become one of my new favorites in the K.C. Metro area. While it might not be the coziest sushi joint I've been to, the fish was very fresh (the owner was actually carving the filets off of several different kinds of fish when we sat down), it was a nice looking place and the owner/sushi chef was very friendly! The presentation of the food is also probably the finest around. Officially in my top 3 in K.C.!

Not at all what it use to be
This place WAS as good as anything I've had in Spain... Then they changed chefs and things went down hill from there. It seemed every time we went, they had changed the menu item and it was always for the worst. We went for the last time the other day. Never again. Too bad, for this was our favorite place and we would go 2 or 3 times a week in the summer. RIP old friend!
