    Unique atmosphere

The combination of bikers, tourists, and surfers certainly isn't found just anywhere. The clam chowder was very good, although it did need a little pepper, and the fried shrimp and french fries were excellent. I enjoyed the crab cake, but wish I'd skipped the fried fish--dry and bland. Still, it's better than some of its competitors closer to Santa Monica, and it's a fine place to eat if you're driving out PCH toward Oxnard.

    Rich, filling, delicious

Crab Cakes serves some great clam chowder. Creamy and flavorful, it does not disappoint. There are a variety of serving sizes, including a bread bowl. The crab louie salad offers a nice mix of greens and a healthy portion of crab, and everyone liked the crab cakes. Save room for dessert--there are several rich and tasty choices of cakes and cheesecakes.

    Terrific!

I wouldn't expect to find good Chinese food in every small town, but this definitely fits the bill. The Szechuan beef and Mandarin beef were spicy, but not overwhelming. The potstickers were enormous and flavorful, and the service was friendly and prompt. I will definitely eat here on my next trip to the Yosemite area.

    Fantastic calzones

In our week on Kauai, we ate here twice. The service is friendly--we even got tips on out-of-the-way places to visit--and the food is tasty with generous servings. I recommend the calzones.

    Delicious food, intriguing design

The crab cake sandwich and the french dip were both delicious--this is a great lunch spot that is nowhere near downtown. Also, take a look around. The place is quietly stunning, with a variety of seating arrangements and styles that look fantastic together.

    Great food, great setting

My brother and his fiancee (now wife) held their rehearsal dinner here. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I highly recommend the macadamia-crusted mahi mahi. Just across the lawn you can see the waves crash on the shore, providing a wonderful location for a memorable meal.

Sunset meal to satisfy all the senses

This is a wonderful place for a romantic meal. We sat at the rail at sunset and watched the colors of the sky change as waves crashed on the rocks below. Service was prompt and friendly. The king crab was tasty but hard to extract (they didn't have the tools, and it got messy), so next time I'd order something else--but I would definitely go back. The chardonnay was one of the nicest I've had, and the bread and basil butter was a nice twist on basic fare. The mac nut pie? To die for.

    Great coffee

Lots of options, both for coffee and food. I had a cafe au lait that I thoroughly enjoyed. Based on the number of laptops to be seen, this may be a good spot for wireless internet access.

    Crowded and worth the bother

My husband and I first discovered L&L in Honolulu, where we went to the original. This store in Kona suggests that quality is uniform across the chain. The katsu chicken is excellent, and the fried shrimp are tasty. We've eaten in a few other plate-lunch places, and this is the best. They also have my favorite macaroni salad. The flavor is mild, but I can't get enough of it!
