Don't go here unless you like to waste time!!

Do not recommend this place at all. It took 5 weeks to get a pair of glasses! No communication from them during this time unless we called to check on the glasses, and even then were told nothing more than ""the lab is behind"". Also, no one called to say the glasses were in when they finally did arrive. Plus the whole visit from eye exam to ordering glasses took 4 & 1/2 HOURS, and it wasn't like there were other patients waiting, the office was virtually empty. Totally unacceptable service. Incompetent front desk staff. They seem to think people have hours and weeks of disposable time. We will not be returning.

    Yummy & Abundant!

The food here is very good. They give you hot tea right away. The Service is EXCELLENT! No wonder they've been in business so long. My only issue is the deep fried Spring Rolls, I anticipated all Spring Rolls are fresh and wrapped in the delicate white wrapping and unfried. I've never had them fried, so despite the shock of that one thing - they were still tasty in their own way, especially with the dipping sauce that comes with them. The portions here are LARGE so be prepared for that. (ie; don't order appetizers, you won't need 'em! :-) ..)

    Exceptional!!

We went here for a special occasion and were not disappointed! The setting is fantastic overlooking Spokane Falls. Waitstaff is attentive but not annoyingly so, they are also very informed about how the food is prepared. Our dinner was wonderful. Tuna steak was divine and cooked just as we asked. There is free valet parking only, but they do a fine job (we tipped accordingly, because it was nice to not have to hassle with a parking lot). We will definately be going back, even if its not a special occasion!

    Wonderful Atmosphere

You'll feel like you are in Britain when you enter this establishment! It's beautiful inside. Their selection of beer is a bit limited but you can get some interesting mix with Harp or Guiness & Pear Cider - very tasty! But they have been out of ""Old Speckled Hen"" beer on two occasions when I used to go. I guess next time I go back I'll call ahead to make sure they have 'the hen'. Food is bland, but then again it's British/English fare, so thats how it is. Go for the atmosphere. Bring friends! Have fun!

Bad Chips & Salsa, Bad Margaritas

I truly don't know how Salsalito got to be number 4 on Best Mexican Food. I thought San Antonians have better taste than this! Chips & Salsa are horrible, the salsa tastes like ketchup. The Margaritas are awful also, I do not know how they make them but if they went to the store and bought one of those buckets you stick in the freezer that would be WAY better than what they serve here. I live right around the corner and haven't been back since 2004. Also they are overly crowded with long waits, but I am not sure why! I guess no one wants to drive somewhere better.

    Cactus Margaritas

Wonderful ""Cactus Margaritas"". They are beautiful as well as flavorful, and highly potent! 2 will be plenty! We brought out of town guests to Zuni for the margaritas, and they were very impressed. The salsa and chips are good too. The food is not that terrific, small portioins and pricey. Just go for the 'ritas!

    Too Expensive

The ambience is very nice, and so is the service. But honestly, I cook my steaks just as good at home. The key to this is being a member of Sams Club where you can purchase thick steaks to cook at home. Also paying $8.95 for approximately 8 spears of asparagus is a bit outlandish. One steak is $32.95. It comes with NOTHING-just the steak!!!!! Nice atmosphere - but not worth the price. What you get here does not warrant such a high price. I am sorry Ruthie, but we won't be spending any more special occasions here, you've gotten way too rich for our blood.

    Excellent Subs!

We went here once and were very pleasantly surprised. I wish they had more locations! For some reason, Citysearch deleted my prior review. I don't know why-I feel this restaurant deserves a good review for their fabulous subs!! I had the New Orleans Muffaletta, and it was quite tasty. Other members of my party had various other subs, everyone was pleased. The prices are great also.

    Clean and Professional

We go here often, it is very clean and professionally run. We do not go to movies often because of the cost and my impatience to sit through something two hours when I know I could be doing something more productive, but when we do go here we are always happy. Except for the price of popcorn and soda. Almost $6 bucks for an xtra large pocorn. Please! I think everyone in the United States should boycott buying from concessions at the movies, and then we'll see the prices go down.

    Average Food, Good Drinks

The margarita's are terrific, just like El Mirasol's (and I think these two restaurants are related - correct me if I'm wrong). Try the Cadillac Margarita. The food is so-so. The salsa tastes burnt, maybe this is what makes it good to some people but it isn't good to me. Food is very expensive, and not that good. I agree with the other poster- this place is overrated, because it is pretty and nice, and with good 'ritas. But, the food leaves something to be desired. When you sit inside, you get these spindly little metal patio chairs on a tile floor so you have to adjust them just right so that you aren't in a crack and rocking back & forth.
