Laughing Seed Cafe

As a vegan it was pure bliss to sit down to a menu *full* of options including appetizers, entrees, desserts and smoothies. We visited Asheville for the first time for a three day weekend and we ate there (with meat-eater friends who LOVED it) three times! I read previous posts about mediocre service, but our service was great. Our servers were very friendly and extremely helpful. I cannot remember the name of the guy who we had the first time, but we had Sarah the other two times and she is an absolute doll. Very helpful to me (vegan) and my friend who is on a Gluten Free diet. She even tailored a dessert special for my GF friend. The food is soooo good, I can't even explain it!! \r
If you were my friend, I'd say you gotta try this place!
Hampton Inn Asheville-I-26 Biltmore Square

I've stayed at a lot of Hampton Inn's and can honestly say this location is probably THE worst in customer service. The front desk employees were very short, curt and rude to the customers - not only myself but as a witness to another customer's experience. While checking in, a lady had came in with a reservation which they could not find. Understandably the customer was a bit upset and said she had a reservation number which she was told ""we're full I can't give you something I don't have, you should have called us directly to confirm. We would have told you that you didn't have a room."" Unbelievable!\r
Upon check in our ""free hi speed internet service"" was not working, when we called the front desk asking if they were having problems I was told ""there's a guy on the net down here, it must be your computer.' No other offer for help or anything. \r
I will say the housekeepers were extremely nice and friendly. It seems it was only the front desk employees (four that I remember) that were lazy, rude and could use a training course in courtesy and hospitality. I will not be returning to this location. Ever.

Lord have mercy! The food here is out of this world... I had the portabello mushroom sandwich and VEGAN mac 'n cheese while my husband had the veggie burger. The food was sooo good and I cannot tell you how ordering vegan mac 'n cheese made me giddy! And it tasted out of this world good. My husbands veggie burger was a homemade job and he couldn't stop saying ""wow, this is really good"". \r
And don't get me started on the desserts! Vegan of course; triple chocolate custard made me cry it was so good. My husband's peanut butter chocolate cheesecake was pretty good too. \r
Don't be swayed by the looks of the place from the outside (it kinda resembles a head shop type place). The inside is very clean, and they are very eco conscious as they compost everything and recycle everything as well. Even their to go containers are recyclable. All in all a great place that I will revisit every chance I get. I'm so in love with their mac 'n cheese and already miss it madly.
