    Not even worth the $4

I bought a groupon for 4 movie tickets at $4 each to go to this theater. After using two of the tickets, I don't know if I will even use the other two.\r First of all, the theater is old, dingy and the parking lot is kind of creepy and hard to get to. Not to mention full of potholes.\r We went to get popcorn and got a kids pack- there's an ad on a tv screen at the concession stand that says 'upgrade to full size candy for a small charge'. We wanted to do that, because one person wanted the popcorn and another the candy. The girl acted like we were insane and stood there like there was nothing she could do- totally inept. \r The theater seats were fair, and based on other reviews I didn't bother ordering food or drinks during the movie. \r The groupon I bought isn't good for 'no passes' movies, which is practically everything they show. No I don't want to see Resident Evil...the other 7 movies they show are all 'no passes'. It's a terrible theater, don't bother.

    Relaxing downtown spot

Went here around 630 on a Tuesday- there about 6 other people there, all just relaxing and chatting with friends. We had two very well made drinks, some free nachos they had set out and were able to relax on their sofas for a while. The bartender was very nice, I didn't feel pressured or out of place at all. The place was clean and nicely decorated and kind of romantic. Overally, I'd definitely go again- not a tourist trap!

    yum yum!

We went to The Grill for our anniversary. I found it a little too expensive for a normal dinner out (about $100 for two people) but good for a special occasion. We had escargot and wine by the glass, followed by a stew for me and a pasta dish for my date. The slow braised pork shoulder was wonderful- the pasta (agnelotti) was a little strange, but good, but not enough food for my rather tall athletic companion. We had creme brulee and a crisp chocolate dessert. The creme brulee was delicious! Not to sweet and with a great crunchy top. We liked the atmosphere as well- quiet but not empty. My only complaint was our particular waiter- he seemed inexperienced and spent a lot of time chatting at another table with someone who was obviously an employee out for dinner.

Wouldn't go back on a bet

We went to this Escalante's before we had a meeting in the area. It was terrible! The place was noisy, uncomfortable and when I left I felt slightly greasy. The food left much to do be desired, and the service was terrible. The only person on the staff who seemed to do their job adequately is the guy whose job it is to refill the salsa containers on your table. Not recommended!

warning for those without limitless income

I considering many wedding coordinators, including Schwartz and Woodward. They were by far the most expensive, at least double the cost of even the trendiest planners I spoke to. I couldn't believe it! I'm sure they do a great job, but there are many other coordinators who come with glowing reviews who don't charge anywhere near as much. Just be wary and shop around!

Bad food, bad service, bad atmosphere

I attended a group meeting here on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was quiet until a large group came in an hour behind us. That was ok, but the group walked back and forth near our table constantly.\r The set menu was awful, nothing even remotely healthy on it. No substitutions were allowed. I finally convinced the waitress to let me order soup and salad from the main menu. It was a mistake. The menu said 'unlimited' but I wasn't offered more of anything. In fact the waitress only showed up twice during the whole meal- once to take orders and once to deliver them. She was not polite and interrupted the meeting blatantly. The soup and salad were awful. The salad consisted of some iceberg lettuce and croutons and the soup was possibly the worst minestrone soup I've ever tasted- it was mostly celery. I ate about three bites then decided to just eat bread the rest of the night. The bread tasted ok, but again there was nothing remotely healthy about it- white, yeasty bread with butter and no other option. The other members of my group were not very picky eaters, but even they didn't seem to love the food. Everything was covered in too much cheese and there is really nothing Italian about any of it. \r Overall I would never go here again. The location is ok, but I would rather travel further and not feel like I wasted money buying food I won't even eat.

    very interesting chips and salsa...

I went here alone, and they actually didn't assume it was a table for two, which I appreciate.\r The chips were weird- they mix salty with sweet, so be prepared for a surprise. I had grilled shrimp with rice and vegetables. The shrimp and grilled onions were great, but the asparagus was awful. It was like they left it in the bottom of the oven until it was black- it tasted kind of like charcoal. The dish ended up being heavier than I expected, because of a rather buttery sauce, but it was good. \r I asked for mineral water and got bottled water- I actually wanted sparkling water. That's purely a matter of a waiter that isn't familiar with mineral water. They gave me a white chocolate tamale for dessert, which tasted good but made kind of a mess as the milk (I think) that had been frozen melted. \r The prices were a little high for this type of food, but I liked it.\r Oh and it was pretty much empty on a Tuesday night.

    tasty bruchetta!

Prompt service, relatively authentic food, everything was well prepared and tasty- no complaints. \r We had bruchetta, eggplant parmesan and snapper napoli. They also have whole wheat pasta to substitute for $1. The location was busy but not crowded on a Sunday evening and had a good, casual ambience.

    Truly Horrible - keep away!

I have lived in Italy. Nothing at Fornos tasted anything like authentic Italian food. That being said, I like Americanized Italian food as well. This was not a good version of that either. The lasagna had so much cheese you couldn't find the pasta, the calamari was served with a very weird sauce and the bread was the only part I thought was worth eating. It was just plain white bread...\r I was disappointed in the service too. Our waitress did not tell us the specials or soup of the day or recommend a wine for our meal. In fact she seemed to want to say the least possible and have as little contact with us as possible. \r The only redeeming quality was the quiet atmosphere- probably because it's terrible and no one wants to eat there! Even then, the music was a bit annoying.
