Showed up here and in general had a good time. The music was awesome, the drinks were great. But as a born and bred Manhattanite, I have NEVER been so insulted by the door staff at a club. We were all friendly and nice, and we were talked to like we were causing trouble. The best was when I tried to hand my friend money to check his coat and a bouncer told me ""He needs to have his own money."" Excuse you? I recommend the bar in general (coat check people and bartenders were awesome) but be prepared to get yelled at for no reason. Ridiculous.

So after reading some of the stuff here and thinking this place looked cool from the outside, a few of us went here for happy hour on Friday and we weren't that impressed. First off, the place is TINY, it was hard to move around. And the black/white tiles on the floor made us feel like we were in someone's kitchen. This place has potential, but we won't be going back until they renovate or something.

This place is great, while so many places in Manhattan go to great lengths to make everywhere look like they spent a million dollars on it, this place just focuses on the music...and it works. $5 cover most nights I think, and decently priced drinks. Everyone should give it a shot, there were some VERY different crowds here, and it was cool.

I really don't see what people would find wrong with the actual theater, the plush purple seats are great, the sound system is fine, and I don't find anything wrong with the staff. And the selection is usually great, mostly big movies but also the odd indie release, like 'Big Fat Greek...' and 'Monsoon Wedding'. The only thing that ruins my experience from time to time is the audience. NEVER go to a late night showing here, because it will be full of people bringing their toddlers and talking on cell phones. Afternoon showings are much more enjoyable.

The drinks were good, the service was not bad, and the music was really good...so why is there no dancing? It wasn't hard at all to get in for me, although some other people had trouble, even though it wasn't exactly packed. Would go back, although I don't usually find myself hanging out on 58th Street, so it could be a while.
