Honest mechanics doing good work
To be truthful, I have not taken my vehicle to Malin's. I have, however; dropped off a friend and coworker there several times to reprair their terminally ill vehicle. These guys always come through in a decent amont of time and at a great price. They have been around for along time and have a good history. When I do need a mechanic (and I will) this is the place I'm taking my car.

it's called Taco Garage
Great Mexican food.... enough said? Breakfast, lunch or dinner I've not been let down at the Taco Garage. I've eaten there more than a dozen times in the last year-or-so. It gets a little crowded on Saturday mornings, but that is a good sing of a place you want to eat.\r

great hidden away gem...
The Lords Kitchen is one of those hard-to-find places that ""the locals"" only seem to know about. It's hidden away by the train tracks on the eastside of downtown. If you find it by chance you must be doing something illegal or are lost. It is sometimes difficult to get a seat---that's a good sign. The burgers are much better than most of San Antonio's favorite burger places. In fact, I would put the Lords Kitchen burger up against Chris Madrids, Lone Star or Chesters anyday. It is an original San Antonio eatery.

Best BBQ Around
I was really sad when Bob, of Bob's BBQ"" died. I though that would be the end of good REAL bar-b-que in San Antonio. The new owners (this is the site of the origional Bobs) have continued on with the tradition of great traditional Texas-style BBQ. The Smokehouse is the cornerstone of BBQ on the eastside (in my opinion all of) San Antonio.

Thaiaberas and more!
I couldn't believe the great Thai-styled guayaberas ""Thaiaberas""? Perfect for our laid-back city and hot climate. They also have these huge Thai/Asian water cisterns which are the only cool alternative to plastic or wood barrels for a rain water collection system--something that will be in high demand here some day. Lots of good Bamboo stock, which could be used for all sorts of home projects. Lots of great Asian contemporary furniture/accessories for indoors and outdoors. Just looking around the showroom will give you an idea of all the possibilities.\r

With all the chain-store malls sprining up around 1604 and beyond, it's good to see a unique and stylish business in our city. Check it out---it's a good look at the style of Thailand and Asia! \r
