My first visit here definitely impressed. Everything that we tasted on the menu was great, particularly the shrimp tapas (if you don't order it yourself, the waiter will surely recommend it). Trust the staff on the wine selection - the bottle's are a bit pricey but definitely worth it. Basque food may work in all seasons, but wait for warm weather before going to Marichu - the heating's atrocious and the place literally freezes everytime someone goes in or out.

Nyonya's great - the food's more flavorful than any other Malaysian place around, the variety's incredible, and the chaos around you is refreshing. A great place for a large, cheap group dinner (if you're not too into ambience). Go there hungry and order the food spicy, if you can handle it. Start off or round up with a drink at Double Happiness which is just around the corner.

Everything's impressive about this place. The sheer quantity of food, the size of the space, the attentive service...I could go on and on. You've got to love meat and you've got to go with a group large enough to order capirinhas by the pitcher. If you're careful with your drinking/desserts, you can even manage to spend around $60 a head all told (It's $38 for the buffet/meat). If you're into wine and after-dinner drinks you'll end up with a tab closer to $110.

Cabin Club is a welcoming, relaxed, rarely-crowded hideout. I live in the neighborhood and am convinced that I'll be visiting often; I could want no other neighborhood bar. Definitely the place to go when you really want to get a few drinks and catch up with someone. The 2-for-1 happy hour is long (4-10) but the drinks are cheap enough anyway that it doesn't make *that* much of a difference.

Aki is a great find. The tiny space immediately makes you feel an intimate connection with your date. Speaking of date - it's really only sized for two person tables, though there was one that could seat four. The food is beautifully presented and very tasty - definitely go for the tuna mille-fuille, a combination of tuna, apple, star fruit, and avacado -it's so good, you'll order another one. Having 'Chef Siggy' personally preparing absolutely everything is a real treat. He even shells his own shrimp. Incredible!
