Fine Dining in San Antonio = Silo's

We went to Silo's for our anniversary and loved it. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was A+. From presentation, to service, to ambiance. This is a great cross between fine dining and cool lounging. The restaurant is lit just right for a romantic evening and the lounge is perfect for that after dinner drink and to relax. The wait staff was extremely courteous and professional. The menu was great and the surf and turf was just perfect. The lunch prices are significantly cheaper than the dinner prices but either is worth every penny!! Dinner for my wife and I with appetizers, two entrees, dessert, and one drink each was about $160. Thanks for a memorable night of fun, relaxation, and fine dining.

    Cool place to hang

We've been here a couple of times. The drinks are cheap, the live music is good, and the people are just kick back... There seem to be lots of bikers and people who appear rough, but the place is really cool and everyone is there to just have a good time. They offer free wi-fi and we saw lots of people at the bar with their lap tops. They have pay per play pool tables too. Cool place to check out and stop in for a drink.

    Cool Place for Military People

Cool place filled with mostly active and retired military people. The bartender and patrons were very nice, but it was more of a kick back place for regulars. Beer was cheap and there were pool tables. I'd recommend going there if you were looking for a night out with just the guys or if you had military friends.

How do you say ""Delicious"" in Thai?

We tried this place yesterday just out of curiosity...and it was great. The curry was awesome, although a little more bellpepper than I like (but still delicious). The menu was extensive and very affordable. My wife had the Pad Thai and a HUGE Thai coffee afterwards...both awesome. As an appetizer we ordered a place of fried rice. Sounds kinda weird, but Thai fried rice knocks Chinese fried rice out of the water (try it sometime). Oh yeah...almost fogot to mention the Won Ton soup. OMG was it the best we've ever had. Maybe we're just nuts for Thai food, but so far we've had great success at finding good Thai food in SA. The wait staff was also the best. Very police and welcoming in true Thai style.

    Good Tourist Mexican Place

This is a def. must for the San Antonio first timer or any tourist. The Mexican food is great and very authentic. It can get kind of crowded because it's located on the Market Square strip (another must). Service can be questionable sometimes and many of the waiters/staff speak little English, but the food and Mexican decor/atmosphere make up for it. The Mariachi bar is great. The ""Top Shelf Margarita"" is the best...especially the large, scooner one. It's a little over priced for Mexican food in San Antonio but most of that is because it's a tourist location. Mi Tierra is owned by the same people that own Las Margaritas and Pico De Gallo...also excellent restaurnts. If you want cheap authentic Mexican food, there are tons of other choices in SA...but definitely give this place a try. Oh yeah, they also have a Mexican bakery with tons of pan dulce (spanish for sweet bread). If you're staying the night in SA, then get some bread after dinner to eat with coffee in the morning...I promise you'll get hooked...lol.
