Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
400 Beach St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060
I'ts the 21st century ? You will barely notice at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The Giant Dipper, arcade , and Chocolate Dip cones are some of my favorites and don't forget the CORNDOGS ! Wanna hit the beach ? You can walk across the street to your car , get your beach gear and be on the sand in a couple minutes. If your coming down highway 17 and want to get to the Boardwalk in style, exit in Scotts' Valley ,drive up the road to Felton , and hop on the Roaring Camp Railroad. The train goes through the redwoods and pulls right along the boardwalk in front of the carousel.Step out of the open-air railcar and let the fun begin.Take the first train down and you can spend about 5 hours before it's time to leave. I dare you to find a more enjoyable way to spend the day .
Buon Appetito Restaurant
917 A St, Hayward, CA 94541
Surprised that this gem is tucked away on a non-descript part of A street in Hayward. But once inside, wow ! Let the fine dining begin. The bread and spread they bring is ADDICTIVE and the service is excellent. The mural on the wall looks great. The food is everything Olive Garden should be but isn't.The Moretti Italian beer is a nice touch and the desserts are unbelievable .The hot apple tart is awesome. All of the desserts are .Great dinner place, probably better to leave the kids at home for this one.You will want to be alone with your significant other.
2115 Kelly St, Hayward, CA 94541
Vals.If you live in the East Bay and do not know this name ,I feel sorry for you. This is THE best burger and shake joint. It's the real deal 50's diner. Not some ""made to look like a diner"" place. Here are some tips for the newbies so you will look like a Vals Pro.Order your shake as an ""all around"" , i.e. ""i'll have an all around chocolate shake"" .It's on the menu so you can read up on it.Also, the vegetable soup is awesome, and so is the clam chowder on Fridays.Order a side of sauteed onions for your burger too. Get there before 5 to beat the crowd or if there are only two of you there is always the counter. What are you wating for ?

If your coffee order begins with tall, grande or venti, then you are in the wrong place.Bodi's rules ! Their coffee is of the highest grade and will surprise you.Break away from the big S just once and try it out.The smoothies are good ,and besides, the Bodi's girls are just plain cuter too.
Fentons Creamery & Restaurant
4226 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA 94611
Fentons was,is, and always will be the benchmark ice cream parlor in the Bay Area. The place looks fantastic after the remodel, sure the prices are a little high, but the ice cream is the best there is.No gimmicks or funny business, just good old fashioned food and ice cream in a good old fashioned atmosphere.
