John Street Bar and Grill
17 John St, New York, NY 10038
Understand that John St B&G is a dive. Its a great dive. Pub food is good and cheap. Drinks are even cheaper. There is a drink special every day, sometimes all day, and it usually consists of pitchers for $6. If you go on the weekends it'll be dead, but still good for a cheap drink. Try to avoid ordering food on weekends since it seems to take forever. On the weekdays, food is no problem. Pool tables, video games, dart boards (bring your own darts) make it an ideal place to just hang out with friends.
La Borsa Di Roma Restaurant
215 Pearl St, New York, NY 10038
Thank god for Borsa di Roma. The price fix, starting at 2:30pm and lasting till 9pm closing, is amazing. $20.04 for appetizer, meal, and dessert. And there is at least a dozen of each to choose from. The portions are huge too. And the food is fantastic. Enjoy! Oh, and its usually empty.
19 Fulton St, New York, NY 10038
Red is ideal if you like TexMex and its nice weather. The food is good, but not great, with the exception of their taco salads (Steak especially). Think chain-restaurant TexMex, like Chevy's. But the best part is the location in South Street Seaport and the outdoor seating.
Pete's Place Restaurant
256 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10010
The lunch that my girlfriend and I had was classic diner fare. Nothing fancy. Either waffles or pancakes were cooking and they smelled great. The burger was actually on the small side, so I don't know what an earlier reviewer was thinking. Regardless, Pete's Place is a fine place if you are looking for diner food at reasonable prices.
326 E 35th St, New York, NY 10016
This place is awesome. The drink special on wknites from 4-10 is sweet -- 2 for 1 drafts and well drinks. the draft selection is limited, but all in all it comes to about 2$ a beer...what a bargain. And the place has a lot of nooks for privacy (for cards, not hanky-panky! dirty minds!)
