The Food Company
1020 Keolu Dr, Kailua, HI 96734
We had seen lots of folks eating at this place, so we went for dinner. It was just OK. My curry was bland, The chicken was cool and tasted as if it had been sitting for some time. My wife had the turkey dinner. Turkey dry, stuffing was OK, gravy good, veggies fair. Not worth a second visit.

By far, the most expernsive and the best meal of our tip. You choose if you want 3, 4 or 5 course meals. You begin with a glass of Champagne (Lanson) and a tidbit (we had a small popover filled with a salmon moose.) We had an assortment of appetizers ($$ extra). My wife had the crispy skinned Onaga while I had the bouillabase. For dessert we had a banana souffle. Each and every dish was spot on. Worth every penny. For the 2 of us with a bottle of wine the bill was over $390 with tip) I only wish the wine list had more Alsatian wines.
Farm Boy's Barbecue
525 Columbia Ave, Chapin, SC 29036
I've eaten BBQ for years and this is some of the best I have ever had. When in business in Columbia I make a special drive out to Chapin to eat here. Fresh, fresh, fresh; Mustard, tomato and vinegar based sauces. Super fried chicken and desserts that will make you jump for joy. 10 out of 10!
Pah Ke's Chinese Restaurant
46-018 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96744
DON'T MISS THIS GREAT PLACE. From the outside this looks like a thousand other Chinese restaurants. Inside, if you check the menu you will see an excellent but somewhat typical Chinese menu. BUT if you make arrangments in advance, the owner, Raymond Siu, will prepare a special feast that is out of this world. We ate at Pah Ke one night and then Alan Wong's the next and they were of equal calibre. Mr Siu used to work at many of the big name Honolulu places and now has his own restaurant. On the special meals he tries to use as much local produce and seafood as is possible. When we go to the windward side for a week or two week vacation, we often eat 3 or 4 times at Pah Ke. It is a hidden gem. Be sure to ask him to prepare his chocolate sampler for dessert! (I have no $$ interest at all in this place-I wish I did. I'm just a loyal fan.)
