Tolerated it for friends birthday
Went to a birthday party there for my friend who loves the place. We were seated rather quickly as she had reservations. The place was balmy hot so they had plug-in fans running to move the warm air around. This added to the loud noise of the place. The fan near where I was sitting had a click to it so it sounded somewhat like an air compressor running beside our table through the course of the evening. Then add to that everyone talking extremely loud trying to be heard. I was seated on long rickety bench that is attached to the wall. It was rather uncomfortable. The server was pretty good for the most part and his prevailing attitude when a question or comment was made was ""You are fortunate to be here in our super-trendy restaurant, so sorry if you don't like it but we wont change anything"". I am working the Dave Ramsey plan so in an effort to keep cost down I ordered only the Ravioli $10.00. The four flat raviolis were pretty bland with sweet cherry tomatoes and crunchy English peas over them -- not sure how those conflicting flavors got shuffled together but that is a taste preference so I will give them a pass on that. I did not like it -- I was hungry and couldn't make myself finish the tiny dish. (I had to eat when I got home.) The food was brought to the table very rapidly and that was a positive. I received my bill: the Raviolis were $10.80 with tax and the gratuity was $8.82 -- 82% of the bill - wow. The server said they divide the gratuity equally across all of the people in the party -- so how nice, I get to subsidize the gratuity for the others at the table... bite my tongue... I was thinking I have to keep quiet and write this off as a lesson. One other major positive about the place was the valet service. Everything inside the restaurant was lackluster for the most part.
