Found Bridal Elegance from YP and decided to walk in to check out the store. The girls working that day were extremely helpful and friendly, they didn't require any appointments to look at or try on a few bridesmaid dresses. I had called around multiple places since I planned a last minute wedding for July (in March) and found a dress I loved with a great price. All my bridesmaids went in the following week to get measured and the girls assured me that by placing a rush on the dresses we would have them in time to do alterations which we did. The staff were great at communicating when the dresses were going to ship, when the dresses arrived in the store then made appointments for alterations. The dresses fit amazingly well, a few girls had to have bra cups and a hem to make sure all the dresses looked the same. The alterations had an extremely quick turn around and were very fair compared to dresses I've had altered for other weddings at different places. Overall this store was very friendly, had great communication during the whole process and I never once was worried or stressed about my bridesmaid dresses since the staff continually answered all my questions.

This is a warning to all brides and bridesmaids - beware of this shop! THEY LIE AND LIE AND LIE. If something goes wrong with your dress - you WILL NOT receive a discount, and they WILL NOT inform you of what is going on!



I was one of 5 bridesmaids to purchase my bridesmaid dress from this shop by the bride's request and was extremely disappointed with the level of service I received. I ordered my dress 6 months prior to the wedding and did not receive the dress until 6 days before the wedding.



While accidents happen, the owners and personnel of the shop continued to lie to me and the mother of the bride continuously about the whereabouts of the gown.



First they claimed it would be arriving with the rest of the dresses, then it was to arrive a week late. Then it was backordered, then lost. Never admitting fault on their own... we waited and waited.



When the dress arrived, it had been ordered two sizes too small, which is shocking considering Bridal Elegance measured me

themselves, and I had also lost 10 pounds over the last 6 months. The owner of the shop asked me who did my measurements and was confused about why the dress was so small. After two rounds of alterations due to the dress being too small and then a mistake in sewing, I received my bridesmaid dress two days before the wedding. It still did not fit perfect and seams were messily sewed and threads loose.



During the alterations, the owner commented that she would not be charging me, which I thought was appropriate and kind. I thanked her and told her

I was very grateful for discount. HOWEVER, when I picked up the dress they told me I owed 180 dollars on the dress. I was floored. When we ordered the dress,

we had to pay half of the total. At that time they told me the dress was 144 dollars, so I paid 73.26 (half plus tax). The owner and employee behind the counter could not tell me what had happened,only that I owed them 180. It took 20 minutes of arguing to produce an invoice which proved MORE WRONGDOING on their part.



They ORDERED THE WRONG DRESS... VOIDED IT... ORDERED THE RIGHT DRESS WHICH WAS 280 dollars NOT 144 and then charged me for EVERY singly alteration stitch.



NEVER did I receive a call about the mistakes or that I would have to pay more due to THEIR clerical error. They were very rude and unwilling to provide me with anything for my trouble.



They do not care about their customers as long as they receive a dress by the day of the wedding. They kept telling me, "You have a dress don't you?" The owner, Rhonda, went back on her comment and was only willing to give me 10 dollars off. Nevertheless, I fought til the end and refused to pay anything but the 73.26 I owed them.



This store is GREEDY. Their hospitality is a FACADE! If you choose to go here, PREPARE TO BE DECEIVED.



If they had only been honest the entire time, informing me of the mishaps, admitting they made a mistake, I would have understood. But they could do no wrong.



Outrageous. I am still recovering from being infuriated by their staff.

Great help - already found my dress, just dropped in to see what Bridal Elegance had to offer and it's a WOW factor. Even without an appointment, they made me feel welcome and comfortable - I will be going back for all my accessories, tuxes and shoes! Best prices I've seen in Des Moines from all the bridal stores in the area.
