Carter's Furniture Inc

I was under the impression that Carter's was the classy furniture store in town. It is all show..... you need to be very, very careful when you talk with a salesperson. Recently I went in to purchase patio furniture. The salesperson was very helpful and assured us that the set was in-stock. After delivery we discovered that we received the display set, not a new set. This display set was 3-years old, stored out in the elements and damaged. I have come to find out that it standard policy for them to sell the display furniture as new furniture. I was informed by the president, Mr. Carter that you need to inform them that you do not want the display set......come on, really......who goes into a pricey store, and pays top dollar for a display model. Needless to say the set was returned and I will be shopping elsewhere.

I have to say this, which I don't typically do this type of thing. But I have to break the silence. People need to know how they treat their employees. Recently, my boyfriend was terminated from Carters.. Two days after he told them that he was being sent to Iraq. Isn't that a coincidence that two days after he notified them that he was being deployed that he was fired due to his lack of work ethic and attendance. While he was employed at Carters, he was told many times by his supervisors how well he was doing and how much they appreciated his hardwork. So, it just so happens that two days after he notified them that he was being deployed he wasn't meeting their work ethic standards.



If you support our troops and have any type of respect for our country you won't purchase your furniture from this establishment. They will get away with it and there is nothing we can do about it. Even though it is against the law.
