When I first went to Ann, I was a bit nervous because I had never had a therapeutic massage. My tension seemed to melt instantaneously after going into her office, where the music was quietly filling the background and her voice was very calming. She asked me a number of questions to understand why I was coming in, some medical history and what areas of my body I thought needed extra attention. I told her I preferred a heavy touch for the massage, to help work out any knots that I had -to which she has been most successful in relieving!
I still get massages from Ann, over five years after the first one. Most have been to relieve minor aches and pains (neuro-muscular massage), but I now also see her to move some of the extra fluid in my ankle due to a fracture and the somewhat severe numbness and tingling in my thumb and first two fingers (running up to my elbow) I was experiencing is SOOOOO much better, even after the first time she worked the area (that I hardly feel "the pins and needles" any more). By the time she completes her massage, I am so relaxed that I am ready to take "a long winter's nap.")
Ann is extremely professional in every way - she is very caring and is active in her professional organization, the American Massage Therapists Association. Her desire to learn is never-ending; she attends a number of conferences and classes each year to keep herself as knowledgeable as possible.
I would definitely recommend Ann to anyone looking for a massage therapist, without reservation. Ann's appointment schedule can be booked ahead for some time, but isn't that a great testament to her abilities?
