Each trip to Twin Falls is only enhanced by passing through the swinging brass and glass adorned double-door entry to Barnes and Noble. One could imagine for a moment, that the Professor's Wardrobe has swallowed the High Desert, and delivered one to Narnia...or, at least, to the Professor's Library. The serene elegance of rows of books, games, music and curiousities: and the steaming aroma of Tea and Coffee from the Starbucks concession invite one to get lost for a lifetime, go on a paperback journey to Uzbekistan, and still be able to get home in time for supper. Darkened furniture-quality cherry bookracks step up the grade from vendor to host...to gather books from the racks and settle into tabletop review-mode, is as close to a celebration as one can come on a daily basis in a retail environment. It may not be Narnia, or any other-world. But, every trip to Barnes will certainly leave one a little more Noble...Try our version, next time you are in Twin Falls, Idaho.
A late response to Corbin.miller.9526.... The purpose of this store is to provide books for people's reading enjoyment, NOT for COLLECTORS who want to collect books in mint condition. They go through many many readers before being "retired" to the trash. There are books that are no longer in circulation so they are kept as long as possible as there are people still requesting them even if they are nearly worn out.
Great place to get used books. Plenty of fiction. Cash or check only, so come prepared.
