I first came to this facility about 6 months ago complaining of dizziness and nausea. I told them I had previously been diagnosed with an inner ear condition and felt this was the same thing. After they had my information I was called into the office and "Dr." Patty, told me she wouldn't see me because I may be having a heart attack and I needed to get to the ER. I was incredulous. I told her I was not having chest or arm pain, she insisted she would not treat me, it was a liability. I was stunned. My first concern was should I be driving ? If she was right, why hadn't she called an ambulance? But I was scared So I drove myself to the ER. I was seen and given an EKG and it was normal. I was diagnosed with an inner ear condition.
Over this past weekend I was recovering from a sinus infection when I started feeling congestion in my chest. My regular dr couldn't get me in and their urgent care had a 2 hr wait. I was hesitant to go back to the express urgent care but my daughter called and it was a 10 minute wait and the "dr" was Jaimie. So I thought ok, I'll try it again. I filled out the paperwork, I stated I had a pain in my back thru my chest and I was congested.
They called me to the front desk and told me AGAIN. They wouldn't see me I had to go to the ER. I asked why? I have a cold. Jamie told me it was a liability issue.
My opinion, they are PA's and refused to see me because they are not qualified.
I told Jamie if you're so concerned I'm having a heart attack why are you advising me to drive myself to the ER? She retorted I'll be glad to call you an ambulance. I told her I did not need an ambulance, I needed a Dr and obviously there was not one here. In my opinion if you're over 60 years old they don't want to treat you.
Neither time did anyone listen to my heart or my lungs to see if there was a problem, congestion or otherwise.
I went immediately to Sutter Urgent Care here In Turlock and was seen within the hour and diagnosed with bronchitis .
