I"m a local resident here in Tulsa, and I've always visited Nam Hai for years. I've "PUT UP" with the smell and dirt of that place, because it was the ONLY place where you can get various Asian food. BUT.........ASIAN MART has totally changed that. Here's why: 1) It's clean and neat. 2) There's an odor because of fresh seafood. I mean "FRESH". If anyone has been to a fresh fish place (as in Texas or Florida), you know there's a slight odor. But not like Nam Hai....the odor isn't horrid and can be smelled halfway up 21st street....yeah, sad! T__T 3) There's music and movies (and you can order J-rock and Korean and Chinese Dramas!!!) 4) The people are nice! I MEAN NICE!!! THEY SPEAK ENGLISH....and they greet and talk to you! They're not rude like Nam Hai. They will first - greet you at the door, second - check you out and talk to you about your day, third - ask you to come back, and fourth - help you with anything. And will help you feel like you're welcomed and not like you don't belong because you're not Asain. 5) The food that is fresh, isn't bloody. And the fish doesn't have worms coming out of their mouth. There is no seafood in cardboard boxes, and neither is the food so old there's mold on it. 6) THEY HAVE A CAFE'!!!!!!! Yeah I said cafe'. And it's nice! ^_^ You can order Asian food and coffee and sweets and then shop and eat. Oh did I mention that it's clean too? Well, it is! ^_^ 7) The gift isle is nice and open. They don't have much, but then again it's new. And so it's being improved. 8) There's only one problem....You're not there!!! T________T They need more support. So please go and check it out. You'll see the difference. So, I hope this helped! Also for those who maybe lookin for authentic Asian food in a place that's nice and clean and such. Also, it's in a good location. It's next to a Dollar General, so you can go there if you need things that are cheaper! ^_^ Thank you for reading my review! <3333
Me and my kids went to the warehouse market (12920 E 31st St Tulsa, OK 74134) yesterday 7pm, April the 20th 2009, and I only have 16.50$ in my pocket, I am separated with 2 kids, and last payday April 10th, my husband did not give me any money to pay my rent and utility bills that means no money for groceries either and I don't have a job, I tried to find a job but noone hire me because I have to be flexible when it comes to my schedule and I don't know if I can do that since I am by myself living with my 4 years old son and 11 years old daughter. So We went to the warehouse market with only 16.50$, at the cashier, although I tried to find the cheapest food I still totalled 19.97$ so I told the cashier (His name is LUKE) to take some out, and I was surprised because he told me He got it, I was speechless, first I really need the food until friday the 24th of april that's the next payday of my husband, hopefully he give me some money this time. 2nd for almost 2 years here in Oklahoma I have not met someone that work in a store that would pay for stuff, because I know they don't get paid that much. So I am really really thankful to this guy, I called the manager to let him know about it, but still I want to write this for appreciation, from helping us and showing a good example to my kids.
I love Petty's and their meat is excellent- yes their meat area is clean, I shop there at least 3-4 times a week and usually buy my meat from there exclusively and never had a problem. Their prices are most definitely comparable to local markets, especially Reasor's. Obviously the person who wrote the previous review doesn't understand the convenience of being able to get in and out of the store in less than 10 minutes with everything you need. The store is small and I love that! Their staff is the most kind and helpful I have come across in all the stores I have shopped in.
What can I say about Nam Hai Oriental Market, it's an awesome place to shop, my family and I all love shopping there, they have such a large verity of products, teas, soups and snacks, coffee we shop there at least once a month, by shopping there we eat healthier, the food does to have all the junk our food has that is processed in large factory's, we love our oriental Market, check it out, you'll like it.
I'm from Ft.W, TX. While enjoying family & friends during lunch, Mountainview Hotlinks were grilled and served. We tried to kill ourselves cutting cubes of the links and wrapping a piece of colby cheese around it to stuff into our mouths. Eliminate the cheese. HOT DOG!!! I love Perry's links and will be taking some home for me and the boys.
I was driving to the post office and i noticed the big sign. i walked in and was very impressed! The place had a very good sence of pure ethnic spices. I also notice that the shelves where orderd at a good conveniance. I also noticed that the place was very clean!
I teach across the street from Perry's. We always tell out student about Perry's sandwiches. They are priced right and they are fresh, besides being really good! Everyone who has ever eat the hot links or anything they have, just fall in love with the market!
This is the best grocery store in town. The prices are good (especially during the sales), the selection of items is broad, and the staff are friendly. Even if there isn't a Reasor's near you, it's worth your while to drive out of your way.
The Blue Jackalope is an Experience! In an unlikely neighborhood, this small, organic grocery store resounds of originality and beautiful organic local produce, eggs, meats, cappichinos on the sidewalk and so much more.
We came into town for the Shelby nationals and need a nice place to clean my car. One of the best self serve wash I have been to. Will definitely come back next year.
