Machine Works is now under NEW MANAGEMENT and "Matt" is no longer employed here. Go back and give them a try, great guys to work with.

Overall

This shop does not have the knowledge needed to build performance engines. In addition, their customer service (people skills) is poor. A lot of people have been going here for years and told me these guys were great at building motors so that's why I went. My mechanic pointed out their mistakes and saved me from trouble down the road. I confronted the business and got nothing but excuses. I took my motor to Larry's Engine and Marine and they confirmed what my mechanic told me. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Overall

i went there to have my engine redone. i explained everything to matt the guy there about the engine. i supplied the crank shaft, cam shaft and all of the seals and gaskets. i had all the parts just wanted him to machine the engine and put it back together. so he quoted me $500.00. three days later he calls me and says its gonna be $800.00. okay i can deal with that just get it done.. two weeks later he calls me again. you need to come down here we need to talk. so i go down there long story short he tells me its gonna $1500.00. im upset but okay it needs to be done. so i asked him this is it right no more money your not gonna call me in a week and say its gonna be more are you. he says no. i even said you promise he said yes. so two weeks later he calls me to say its done so i go down there and hes in a bad mood i couldtell right off of the bat he walks up to me hands me the bill its for $1895.00... i thought you said it wouldnt be more then $1500.00. he went off saying how hes already took a big hit on doing it so cheap and how its like a brand new engine and it would cost me $2800.00 for a rebuilt engine. so to get to the point it was a complete ripoff
