Review of Gardenia Adult Care Home (Tucson, AZ 85710)8-12-14 I met Bernie Rosario approximately 10 years ago when she and her team cared for my neighbor’s parents 24/7. Bernie was very caring, attentive, and conscientious with them. Bernie opened her own adult care home approximately 3 years ago. I visited there several times with my father who at the time was living in my home with me while I worked full time. I did have a caregiver come in for him while I was at work. I had also visited several other facilities, trying to prepare in the event it would be necessary to move him to a facility. I truly was attracted to Gardenia because it is so clean, and bright because of the many windows and paint colors. The home has an airy, welcoming feeling, especially in the large common room. There are always home cooked meals, and snacks during the day. The time came when I needed to move my dad on 4-15-12. There was no question that he was going to Gardenia to be with Bernie Rosario and Steve Davis, the owners and caregivers at Gardenia. I was afraid that I would feel terrible leaving Dad there, but my reaction was the totally the opposite. It was truly the right decision. He seemed so at ease from the moment we walked in the door. He was welcomed into the home with open arms and was included in activities as much as he could participate in for the two years he lived there. His dementia had become quite severe. There much interaction with the other residents, their family, Bernie and Steve’s family and other caregivers during his time there. He received excellent care, and it was obvious that he was happy. My father was hospitalized on 3-11-14 and passed away on 3-14-14. Bernie and I were right at his side hugging, touching, and talking to him as his spirit left his body. We were both very blessed to have had this opportunity. I highly recommend Gardenia Adult Care Home to anyone who needs to place a loved one in a facility. Chris' slogan "Customers Love Us & Competitors Hate Us" says it all. CDS doesn't have any peers because they slaughtered the competition with great moving services, fair prices and outstanding customer service! I got Chris' name from a friend and business owner... Chris had his guys show up on a Saturday (he also showed up to make sure the move was going well!) and moved my oldest son from an apartment to a house across town. Let me just say this... as a former Air Force officer, I relocated all over the world moving every two years over a 25-year career.. I didn't get the "perfect" move until I retired here in Tucson and met Chris. I called him again a few weeks later when I was in a pinch and HE came out this past Sunday and moved my younger son across town. That proved two things to me... there truly is no move to small for CDS, and there is no other moving company in the country, let alone Tucson, that can compare to Chris' unique business model. There is only one thing better than a damage-free moving company that is also flexible, professional, reasonably priced and courteous... and that is a company that has an owner who cares about his customers (which transfers over to his crews)... now if I can only find a Tucson auto repair business like that! Chris’ dedication, fair business practices and proven ability to go the extra mile for his customers is unmatchable. Add to that unwavering loyalty and absolute integrity, and I shouldn’t have to say more, but gladly will; if you need more assurances, email me at email@example.com so I can brag on him and CDS some more.
I have known the Cherry's for several years, and they have alwaysmaintained high standards in their care facility. Robert and Myrna are both highly educated in their field, and it shows in their professionalism. \\ They maintain a relaxed atmosphere in their newest home, and the view of the mountains is incredible. There is a large open floor plan in the main public area that includes a living room, dining room and kitchen. It helps facilitate keeping an eye on their residents, and is aesthetically pleasing. The rooms are large and welllit, and two of the rooms share a connecting bathroom with a largeshower and partially sunken tub. They are on the outskirts of east Tucson, just east of Houghton road Escalante, and they see their share of wildlife. I noticed a genuine interest they took in their residents, who always looked relaxed and content when I would visit. Once when I was visiting, I overheard Mrs Cherry thanking a World War 2 Veteran for his protection of her home country back then, and I saw how much that meant to the gentleman, as he related some of his experiences from that time. They serve up a great menu that caters to their client's preferences, and like I said, the view from the dining table adds to the experience. Overall, it's a very nice place in a greatlocation, and they are great people. Mike S. In Tucson, Az.
