I’m new in town and have been here about 7 months. So needless to say, when it comes to finding a plumber I’m at the mercy of customer reviews online. What makes this interesting is that although I have a Condo I’m house sitting for my parents this week as they are on vacation, again. It must be nice to be retired. ;-) I’ll provide a brief description of the problem and how it was resolved. I came home from work (it was dark out) to find the water was not working. I checked the main valve on the sidewalk where the water meter is located and found it still turned on. I found that the main water valve that feeds the house was turned off. Vandals? Apparently not, the previous owner had installed a T-valve onto the main water line that goes into the house. The T-valve was for the irrigation system in the front yard. Since my parents have bought the house 5 years ago they have landscaped the front and back yards and installed a new irrigation system with timers all controlled from the backyard. The old T-valve was not being used and hasn’t for 5 years. The T-valve had a PVC pipe coming out with an on/off valve on it. Well the PVC pipe broke and was shooting water up in the air. A neighbor turned it off. Thank you neighbor! I searched the internet for a plumber and found several. I read through the customer comments and decided to call Aarow Plumbing. I left a message early in the morning and was called back promptly. I spoke with Rocky, I explained the situation and he advised me that he can come out and repair it that day. He provided me an arrival window of about an hour as he was coming from across town. (BTW there are no freeways in Tucson. Why? Poor city planning! And there are more pot holes then I have ever seen, even more that Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis all of which I have lived for work. But I digress) He also provided me with an explanation of how I was going to be billed and an initial estimate. Rocky showed up on time and repaired the broken T-valve and got the water running. The cost of the repair came in under the estimate. Rocky was able and willing to take the credit card payment from my parents over the phone. I would strongly recommend Rocky and Aarow Plumbing. Rocky was very knowledgeable and has integrity. But most importantly for this review, Rocky and Aarow Plumbing has earned the respect and future business from my father, a retired Air Force officer whose life mottos are integrity, honor and always do the right thing, even when nobody is watching. Thank you Rocky and Aarow Plumbing!
Today was a really horrible day until I called Best Price Plumbing. I woke up to my bath tub full of gross smelly water. I called a couple of well known companies in town and told them what was going on. The first thing out of every one of their mouths was…Well sounds like you need to have your tank drained. Now take note that not one of them even offered to come out and look. Now I am in tears and I called Best Price Plumbing and they told me they would come and look at the problem and see what needed to be done. I was sooo thankful that they would just look at it. They got there in under an hour. They spent about 30 minutes tracking the clog and found that I had a clog just before the clean out. They fixed the problem and everything is as good as new. I was so relieved to find out that some people really do care about their customers and they charged a really really fair price for the work. I was so disgusted with the other companies that I called and complained to the managers, but got the same response….Sorry madam, we should of taken a look at it, and I will be talking to my dispatchers to find out why that was not done… you know that did not happen!!!! I thank Best Price Plumbing for taking the time to get to know the problem and taking care of their customers. I will be a customer for life. Thank you again for the great work.
Lenny with Raindance Plumbing has gone above and beyond for us. We used him for a remodeled bathroom first, and he did a great job and was very reliable. Then when we were ready to remodel our kitchen, we called him again. We had some setbacks with some of the other contractors, and we were on a very tight deadline. Our drywallers were supposed to start hanging drywall the next day, so that cabinets could be installed the day after that. The other contractors told me that it couldn't get done in time...that we would have to delay the cabinet install. Lenny said that although he had an emergency call to take care of, he would come back that night and get the job finished. He finished the emergency call and came back at 10 pm. He worked until 3:00 am re-routing plumbing lines, running a gas line, and running a water line for a pot filler above the stove. It was unbelievable. I still can't believe his commitment to customer service. He deserves an award. We were able to have the drywallers start in the morning and the cabinet install went as planned. We will have a kitchen for Christmas! I can't tell you how happy my husband and I are, along with our 3 kids. I would recommend Lenny with Raindance Plumbing to anyone. He is committed, timely, and I totally trusted him in our home. Thank you Lenny! We are so grateful!
we had them out to replace our hot water heater. The tech arrived within scheduled time frame and was very courteous. We got other estimates from home depot and lowe's but we were still on the fence. When the tech looked at our old water heater, he explained the building codes have changed over the last 20 years and we would need to have some code updating done to be in compliance with the city, consisting of some minor vent piping, a sediment trap being installed on our gas connection of the water heater, and our temperature and pressure relief valve needed to be "hard piped" with a union instead of the flexible line used prior. When we asked home depot and lowes about the updating, they said they do not do updating and that the updates would need to be done before they could install. Our estimate from aarow included everything, even haul away! There prices were on point and competitive. I am sure glad we found a company as honest and informative as aarow. We subsequently had them do the work and couldn't be happier. We will recommend them to all our friends and family. Thanks again for a job well done.
Ok, where's the 10 stars?? We had a pipe break on a Saturday and in desperation I tried just about everyone I could find in the plumbing listings. Cool Running was the first company to call me back, within a couple minutes; some who finally did couldn't fit me in for days, some gave me the impersonal runaround on the phone, some never called back period. Of all who responded, their rates were the most reasonable. The gentleman who arrived was amazing - so pleasant, courteous, efficient, knew just what to do and had us up and running and for a couple hundred dollars we were cured of a problem we were afraid might cost many times that. He guaranteed his work for two years! No plumber has ever done that; they always find some way to sidestep responsibility for what happens after they leave. I can't say enough about them - no bells and whistles, fancy trucks and signage and full page eye catching ads; just good, honest, prompt, trustworthy, awesome service. I will recommend them to all my friends.

Arico came out, immediately (and correctly) diagnosed the problem, and located the outside clean out valve. Their estimate to repair the broken pipe was much less than we got from other companies. When they came to do the work, they were extremely professional. They had to dig in my yard to reach the pipe, and when they were done, they returned the yard to its pre-repair condition. They did have to remove a large bush, and actually went the extra mile by hauling it away with them. I highly recommend Arico for their professionalism, knowledge, and fantastic customer service.
I called Best Price Plumbing and spoke to "Gilbert" first thing in the morning. He was able to meet me at my rental in a few hours, located the underground "clay" pipe in just a few minutes because he was efficient enough to contact the city planning office to get the information before I arrived at the property. He actually found the clean out, cleared the line into the house and out to the street and started raising the clean out connection all in under 90 minutes. This guy is awesome!!! Plus he did with out robbing me blind. His price was more the have that of several phone quotes I had already gotten. I can not say enough about how happy I was to have found him on YP.com. Thanks Gilbert, you really are the "Best Price for Plumping" not to mention fantastic service.
Great Company! My septic spit up junk all over my bathtub because I hadn't pumped it in years. Not only did they come out on the weekend to immediately give it a short-term fix, but the office manager answered all of my septic questions. I'm a city girl, so I had no idea that you need to pump it every six years, or so. Then they came back during the week, so I wouldn't have to pay the weekend rate, with two men, to pump the whole thing out, which was filled to the top. They were very nice and professional, and knew what they were doing. They didn't waste any time getting to work in our 100 degrees plus temperatures, and they even gave us a Senior Citizen discount. I was also happy that they cleaned up all their work, and left my backyard looking just like it did before they did the dig up.
Called Aarow Plumbing when I woke up to find my hallway, garage, and laundry room full of water due to a broken water heater. Robert showed up within an hour and took over getting rid of the water and contacting a restoration company. His brother, Rocky, arrived shortly after the restoration company left and he installed the new water heater. I like to support small, local, family run businesses whenever possible. These guys were knowledgeable, courteous, and got the job done quickly. I hope I won't have to call them again for awhile but I definitely recommend Aarow Plumbing and feel better knowing that I have good people standing by if I need them.
I never had the need for a plumber until this week. Our shower had started from a slow drip to an almost constant low run. i searched the phone directory and then looked on yellow pages.com. Once I saw the reviews for "the big name guys" and the reviews for Aarow, I gave Aarow a call. They scheduled an appointment to work with my schedule, arrived promtly, fixed the leak and had to contend with my over zealous dogs (17month old & 14 month old labs). They gave me an accurate estimate and finished the work quickly. I will never use anyone else should I have any other problems and I highly reccommend them. Thanks Aarow and Rocky!!!!
If your toilet is losing water, the problem can usually be quickly identified by taking a look inside the tank.
Under the tank's lid, you'll see a few items:
To understand what could be going awry in your toilet, it's best to first know what happens with each of these items. When you flush the toilet, the handle pulls on a lever attached to the flapper's chain. The flapper then lifts up and lets the fresh water in the tank flow into the bowl.
As the water drains, the float drops to the bottom of the tank, which triggers another lever. This lever turns on the pump, and begins to fill the tank up with fresh water. The pump is turned off when the float reaches the top of the tank again. The water should not go past the top of the overflow tube.
An old or damaged flapper is one of the most likely culprits behind a running toilet. The flapper needs to create a tight seal so water doesn't leak down into the bowl. If water is slowly seeping past the plug, the float will eventually be lowered enough to trigger the pump to turn on.
To replace the flapper:
Flappers are generally pretty universal, so the biggest thing you'll need to take note of is the size. Older toilets generally have a 2-inch outlet valve diameter, while newer ones more likely have a 3-inch outlet valve diameter.
The resting place of your float is key here. If the float naturally rises above the overflow tube, the pump won't turn off until the water reaches that position. Then, water will go down the overflow tube, lowering the water level in the tank, starting the process over again. To solve this, simply readjust the rod so the float's resting place is below the overflow tube.
When the toilet isn't being flushed, the chain leading to the flapper shouldn't be too tight. This could be lifting the flapper enough to let water through. Check the flapper position and the chain and adjust as needed so the flapper shuts tight.
