Fun Country Dance Bar

I've been to Bushwhackers a dozen times or so. It's a good place to learn line or partner dances, especially if you go back a few times. Once the regulars start to recognize you, they'll ask you to dance and be happy to teach you some new moves. Or wait 'til around midnight when more club-type music is played and shake it freestyle. I would not recommend Bushwhackers if you just want to sit around and chat with your buddies - it's way to loud to carry on a conversation and you'll proba...view morebly get bored. Dancing and drinking really is the best part of this place.view less

The best!

We in the Portland/Vancouver area are fortunate to have Bushwhackers; there are very few country dance halls/bars/restaurants around that can measure up. CMT shot a segment for a reality TV show about dancing there last year. The atmosphere is bright, non-smoky, clean and friendly, and contrary to what ""Jeff"" posted in an earlier comment, the staff and regular patrons there are polite, respectful and friendly. (I suspect that ""Jeff"" made an alcohol-fueled a s s of himself during ...view morehis visit, something which is not tolerated at Bushwhackers. Unruly, obnoxious or rude behavior - although rare in the three years my girlfriend and I have been going there - is quickly dealt with.) The food is great, the service is timely and friendly, and the music and dance scene is even better. The only thing I could knock is the ventilation on busier nights; a little more air movement would be welcome. I hear they are addressing that this summer though. The free dance classes are a lot of fun, and great for beginners. They have a calendar of classes posted on their website, which by the looks of it has recently been re-done. Thursdays (ladies' night) and Saturdays are the busiest nights; Fridays a little less so perhaps but still hoppin'. It's at the top of our list every weekend now!view less

Country's Place to Go- Yep it's Bushwacker's

Under new ownership recently, this dance place offers great lessons all week for free. You can beat the cover charge if you get in before 7pm on Friday and Saturday night.\r
You might might even have a good time if you don't over analyze the crowd the staff. \r
That serve good food and make a decent hard drink.\r
I vote this place over Dukes and others anytime. \r
Just be happy!

Great time at Bushwhackers!!

Went early for the dance lesson on Sat nite, teacher was great! Have been to Duke's, this crowd is a little older which I like. Great music, great bartender's! We danced so much, would have loved to have a little more a/c but everyone was really nice including a gentlemen who was patient enough to teach us some new partner dances. Definitely going back!

ridiculous

Bushwhackers in Tualatin is the worst bar I have ever been to. PLEASE, do not attend this bar. I have never been more disrespected by the stereotypical staff in my life. They make assumptions about people , and are the rudest people my friends and I have ever come across in 3 years of going out. I will be there boss one day and will inflict revenge. If you're a good looking guy who this lowlife staff is not familiar with do not waste your time at this joke of a bar. I went out of my wa...view morey to warn anyone so that they are not treated like I was.view less

Very Fun

For my birthday we all decided to go to Bushwhackers Saloon. We ate great food, had great cocktails, and then we learned to line dance. It was so fun! I will definitely do it again.

Great for just an evening out .. low prices, great food & drinks .. crowded on weekends

Bushwhackers is not your average ""bar"", more of a dance club atmosphere .. more adult than usual for a dance club with lots of dancers with more experience than the norm .. dance floor etiquette is observed .. sometimes the service is a little slow but you can always go to the bar & get your own .. safe, fun and not ""stuffy"" .. \r
\r
Cover charge starts at 7pm, could be a little later but people come in early for the dance lessons which start at 7:30 .. no cover on weekdays \r

could be a great place

this bar is in the right location with a great atmosphere and design fireplace and sign that are funny... hugh dance floor. but if you dont know what your doing the regular dancer will make you feel out of place... with a good d.j. and more professional bar staff this could be the best bar in portland area..they dont have much of a happy hour and the service is still poor

Awesome Place!!!!!!!

The food was great, the service was perfect, the whole night was a blast! The place gets packed on the weekend and you can learn how to dance for free on the weekdays. Great atmosphere. Not just for the country folk, all kinds of people there. Very clean and very nice!
