My husband and I used to go to Golden Crane on a regular basis. Sadly, we've moved out of state. However, when we lived in Troy, we went to Golden Crane so often that we became friends with the entire staff. Mr. Michael and Ms, Cindy are the owners. Mr. Michael doesn't speak much English, but that doesn't stop him from showing his appreciation to his faithful guests. We once took our 9 year old God-daughter there, and Mr. Michael personally showed her the relics around the restaurant, and tried to explain what the different weapons were used for. Ms. Cindy is also the sushi chef. When we first began going, we were "beginner" sushi people. We got the Phillie Roll first, and were in love. A simple roll, but so tasty! After going for several months, Ms. Cindy came over to our table and encouraged us to try something new. She asked us what we liked, and after hearing us out, made us some truly delicious masterpieces! After a while, the manager, Peter, became our personal waiter. As soon as he saw us walk in, he would get a bottle of the plum wine we always get, would get me edememe on the house, always knew what we were going to get, though always made sure, and would spend time talking with us about various things. The rest of the staff are really great people too. Eric, Kevin, Dong Dong, Chancy, all of them are the kindest people you could ever come to know. The food was always amazing, fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. We were always treated like royalty, the atmosphere always relaxed us. There was a time in our marriage when things were "shaky", but we would go to the Crane and it seemed like as soon as we would walk in, everything would melt away. We would leave happy, full, and care-free. We've looked for a place where we live now to compare, but there's just some places that you can't replace. When we go back to visit, we will be going back to visit our good friends at the Golden Crane.
