        Wow! What an ordeal! After having three different garages tell me I needed to replace my shock absorbers on my 50th Anniversary C-5 to the tune of $4,000 and looking at part options from California to Florida I finally took the advice of another Northern Virginia Corvette Club member and called Cooper Corvettes. My experience with them could not have been better. I brought the car in last week and John put it up on the lift and was able to immediately see the problem and what actually needed to be done. It turns out only one of the magnetic adjustable shocks had actually been damaged and needed to be replaced. The rest were functioning fine and the "seepage" that the other mechanics referred to is a natural occurrence that is actually necessary to keep the shaft on the shock absorbers properly lubricated. I brought the car in today and bottom line was that it ended up costing me $1,100 to replace the one shock which by my calculation saved me about $3,000!!! As icing on the proverbial cake they also just happened to have a small plastic part that came out of the drivers side door that they explained happened frequently enough to where the keep a bunch of them on hand. This fall I will be bringing my baby in for a performance tune up and for them to replace the climate control module that the display has stopped working on. Anyway, if anyone in the is considering any major repair on their Corvette they definitely need to let these guys have a look before you take the plunge and pay too much. If you want to share this with the other Corvette owners please do. I could not be happier!
