Primary Care
Insurance coverage for eye exams varies. Some plans only cover routine, “well eye” exams. Other plans will not pay for your exam unless you have a medical eye condition or disease. Some plans require a referral from your primary care physicians. Be sure to check your policy(s) to determine your coverage prior to your appointment.

OMNI Eye Specialists works closely with your family eye doctor, family medicine doctor and/or primary care physician to ensure complete, personalized and seamless eye care. Patients are referred to OMNI by their family eye doctor for the more specialized and complex conditions of the eye. Our expertise in medical eye care and advanced surgical techniques compliment the general eye care you received from your optometrist. Your OMNI physician will provide your referring doctor with detailed consultation reports to ensure coordination of care. Glaucoma is actually a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve and is a leading cause of blindness. Vision loss happens very gradually and many people do not even notice the vision loss until the disease is a more advanced stage. The incidence of glaucoma increases with age. OMNI Eye Specialists is a leader in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes (Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes) that causes damage to the blood vessels of the retina in the eye.

The advantage of having a cosmetic or corrective eyelid surgery performed at OMNI Eye Specialists by an oculoplastic specialist is that the physician can perform a full medical eye evaluation and then determine how much correction will be tolerated without over-correcting the eyelids.
Blepharoplasty
Typical candidates for blepharoplasty are at least 35 years of age. The majority of our patients, are typically 50 or older; however, we do see some younger patients concerned about droopy eyelids or large bags under the eyes.
Cosmetic Surgery
Oculoplastic surgery is reconstructive and/or cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, eyebrows, orbit (the bone around the eye) and lacrimal (tear) system. Skin Cancer
Transpupillary Thermotherapy Technique (TTT) utilizes a lower energy diode laser to treat the neovascular complex. The adjacent cells may be left intact and undamaged. The exact mechanism of action is not known. It may be an attractive alternative to PDT as expensive injections are not needed. Similar techniques have been employed to treat ocular tumors such as retinoblastoma and choroidal melanoma.
