One of my close friends who lives in Austin told me about this place. They said that if I ever came to visit San Antonio, I must eat at Kohinoor Restaurant. I went to this restaurant with very high hopes. Surprisingly, I underestimated this restaurant even with the high hopes. It's a casual restaurant, we have to order over the counter, but they bring the food to your table. It's a lot like every other pakistani restaurant in Houston in service and appearance. However, when the food arrives at table, you can see the freshness and quality in the food. The taste is straight from heaven. It's run by a family. So, they give individual attention to each table. It feels a lot like home, comfortable. I would recommend this place for those who are interested in eating fresh, tasty, and all around great food. But, if you're expecting a waitress who's going to open the door for you and usher you to a table then you should be going to 5-star fine dining restaurant; which is obvious from the moment you walk in that this is not that type of deal.
I go to TOMMYS about 3-5 times a week. I don't cook much. This little restaurant on Wurzbach has caught my attention for about a year. The food is great and the service has changed and everyone is so CHEERful. If you go in sit on the right side (near the front) of the restaurant the waitress that takes care of those tables is just GREAT! The food reminds me of home-cooked meals from my mom and grandma. Great Portions, Little Price.
Imagine the smell of fresh garlic, mozzarella and pepperoni. These are just a few of the aromas that surround you when you walk into Capparelli's. The welcoming smile and a friendly hello greets you at the door. The service is superb, the food delizioso, and the atmosphere is right out of Calabria.
