Sears Parts & Repair Center

Our cook stove quit heating at all. We have always had a Protection Agreement on this stove. This was the first problem we had had with the stove. Today was the fourth time we have had a repair person try to fix it. The oven would not turn off. The last attempt we thought was a new control panel. Today the repairman arrived again and banged the keys hard and was able to make them work. My husband and I could not get the keypad to work. He told us that this was a reconditioned pad as Sears no longer makes a new replacement. He is ordering another control panel and cover which should arrive before he returns a week from this Thursday. We will have been without an oven for four weeks by then with no guarantee that another reconditioned control will work. Protection Agreement for all. We like this stove because it is a simple machine to operate until this problem arose. We are really disappointed with these attempts at service.

Service person either took to damaged a part to my refrigerator/freezer while repairing something totally unassociated and did not bother to inform me. I found the problem the next day. Upon complaining to Sears, they dodged the issue and tried to smooth it over by giving me $15.00 of points on their online store site. The part missing/damaged by the repairman costs $65.00. Moral: Watch the repairmen - take video or pictures to document any problems that may arise. Don't depend on Sears to have any understanding or compassion.
